As this seems to be the replacement for the Millenary line I feel it's a failure. There is a feeling of elegance to the Millenary that is absent from this new design.
My first thought was "Did AP buy up all the cases/ dials from the "failed"/ not successful post Gerd Lange Chronoswiss line?"
There's not a lot that says "AP" in this new design.

I guess at the end of the day it will come down to this vs PP, Lange, or a VC for equal money. This is where this watch will fall short. There is no question that the quality is there, finishing is probably superb as expected but that dial seems disproportionate to its case.

Why the minute markers? Could have easily replaced with a beautifully finished bezel. I really like the case from what is visible, it’s unique for sure. But that dial...not.

As another mentioned, these may be had on the secondary markets. Too many other and better options. But then again the way the watch world is, anything is possible.

Who approved these dial designs? I like the watch movement and case but those dials look like Michael Kors/Emporio Armani dials. They need to redesign them and go for a more classical Jules Audemars type look.

What I don’t get is why they spent 2 years working on the applied logo - it’s almost as if certain elements became passion projects internally without actually pausing for breath and sense checking if it’s adding value to the finished product or not.

There are some cool design features within it, but the thin hands and markers do detract from the aesthetics for me.

The case itself, including crystal and lugs does seem to be a nice move but maybe a version 2 is needed to bring the whole package together.

Love the case and the movements.

Hate the name, size and dials.

The basics are there, maybe a new dial will help.

Time only looks like a dressed up Polaris and chrono like a Micheal Kors.

In the mean time can I get a 39mm ROC with the new movement?

Agree. The display back and movement look great. If they flipped the watch over and made it a skeleton, I’d be a buyer

However and unfortunately, dial is pretty important. Would have loved no-date, perhaps brueget numerals versus the panerai like enlarged 12, 3 , 6, 9. Perhaps it will grow on me.

My favorite is the simple 3 hander white dial rose gold.

I’m sorry. It’s like they hired the Armani Exchange watch department for this and had the JLC Polaris design team consult for five minutes.

This won’t be displacing the Royal Oak like anytime soon.

Design by committee.

Spent all their time sweating the details and forgot to designs the dials.

I was holding off on the ROC to see what the new line will look like. I’m not a big fan from the photos. I wonder if and when the ROC will get the new movement??

I wonder the same as well as I picked up a ROC recently. Curious to see the price if they decide to put in the new movement onto the 26331.

note to ceo: ditch this model lineup, take the movement and insert across entire RO models, and move on.

avoid bleeding out the brand reputation, especially after such an uptick in 2018.

Haha, now Vacheron 56 looks like a masterpiece. I think I'm going to get a 56 Complete Calendar in SS. It's just priced right.

I have to admit that I was looking forward to the full reveal and see what AP had in this new line. Now that I've seen it, at least in press release photos and videos, it doesn't do anything for me.

One thing I don't think has been mentioned yet in this thread: Is anyone else surprised by such a low WR at 30m? Not a huge deal in the real world but with all the R and D that went into the new chrono, why so low?

The case is more fully-revealed and yes...it looks beautiful. The lugs are nice as well IMO.

However, no pics can change the font selection and dial design.

) I really like the case design !
) Large dial diameter with small bezel is fantastic !

) The chapter around the dial perimeter needs to be eliminated !

) I would pay $6k max ........

I personally don’t think they’re as bad as everyone is making them out to be. A bit of an overreaction. I was a bit underwhelmed by the dial design at first glance, but the more I look at it and the more live pics I see, the more I’m actually appreciating the overall design. I think it works and has a lot of potential...

I’ll decide how I really feel about it when I’ve seen one in hand

Same here and agree that it's not as bad. At the end of the day who looks at their watch straight on from the top and see a perfect circle?? Most of the time you'll see the side of the case and be interesting to see the curvature of the crystal in person plus legibility of the dial. I might be the odd ball here, but the design is growing on me. Keep in mind that AP didn't replace the RO nor the ROO with the CODE 1159.

I do like the Perpetual Calender but who is going to buy this at 74k USD? If they don't sell well and they discount it to 40-50-60k I think there are better options out there.

I can't see myself spending almost 27k for the most basic model in this range. Give me a used Lange 1 or similar.

I‘m afraid this new line launch will cut the production for RO, ROC and ROO.
This mean looooong waiting list.
About the new line I think I need to see it but maybe give a new interpretacion for classic watch and make the classic more loved by younger!
