I'm a sucker for floating romans.
Just look at Ken's pic. |

Both watches look great, but I prefer the motif dial.
You indicated some concern as to wearability, from a couple different angles. When purchasing mine, it was my first DD. Having been used to a more finely adjustable fit, I wasn't sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised as the watch fit nicely right out of the box (7.5" wrist). It was slightly looser than I was used to, but manageable. Just as a general observation, the fit in the summer is a bit tighter, while now it will, on occasion, slide a little. But not an issue for me at all. As to the weight, it definitely has some heft. I previously had a gold Sub, and this watch is definitely heavier. You are cognizant of its presence on the wrist, but I don't find it to be an issue. Great watch - you'll enjoy! |

I got the motif and actually switched to the quadrant romans. To me the dial on the motif in many lighting situations doesn’t look sufficiently blue. I love the color of the quadrant dial — and I honestly really like the deconstructed romans.
Another vote for negotiating in advance on the 1.5 link. Rolex service charges 3k for it after the fact. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

like the motif dial and my platinum Daytona is very comfy so I wear it every day. It is most comfortable when there is little loose in it, so maybe the lack of fine tune adjustment in the President might be an issue. IDK, as I’ve never owned one.

Interesting. When you say “sufficiently blue”, is it the grey undertone maybe coming through the motif, or is it something else? I went back to the AD and tried on the motif again and it is gaining ground. I think the dial is more interesting, but I contrast that with the character and the pop that the romans provide. Ken’s picture of the Roman is spectacular, but I prefer sticks over Romans
