I know that a lot of watch fans disparage gold as a metal from which their favourite machines can be made. But I love Gold! Its lustre is so hard to tarnish. Look at these coins being unearthed at a dig in Jerusalem. Despite being in the ground for 1300 years they look like new...

I had to cringe when I saw the young lady handling those coins as they were piled on top of each other in her hands and in that Tupperware tub. From a numismatist standpoint I can just see the scratches and dings appearing.

But with that said: What a find!!
