The WHO Quadrophenia
I listened to it today for the first time in a couple decades, wow, it has held up well with time.
Just needed to let someone know. Thanks.

Favorite album from my favorite band The Real Me and Punk Meets The Godfather are for me the best songs on the album. I've seen them twice live. Daltrey and Townshend are touring this year as The Who and just released their dates this week.
I saw Roger solo last year and he played both songs above. I was impressed. He put on a great show

Definitely one of my favorites from them.
I saw them live in August 2017 at Outside Lands in San Francisco. Best performance of the entire weekend no questions asked. Daltrey may not be able to hit all his notes like he use to but his stage presence and performance was amazing. It's crazy how well Townshend still shreds. For any fans in LA they are going to be at the Hollywood Bowl this upcoming October. Definitely going to purchase some tickets soon. |

Love The Who! My favorite band growing up. My friend and I would listen to them for hours on end.
We would record the albums onto cassettes, TDK Gold something or others, and then pause and rewind until we knew all the words. Awesome album, awesome band! Never saw them in concert, didn’t have the money as a pup, and then went through the phase of ‘they’re too old to see now’ and now I would see them in a heartbeat! Bought tickets today to see them in September. This tour could be final tour (for real this time).

Definitely my favorite Who album. I saw the Quadrophenia Tour in 1996 and it was incredible (Billy Idol toured with them as the Bell Boy). I saw Roger Daltrey last year at The Fox Theater and he still puts on a pretty good show.

I have a few Who albums including Quadrophenia.
I wouldn't say it was my favourite Who album but it is a good one.

Had the honor to meet John Entwistle back in 1991. A real thrill for me. For John, not so much.

Quad probably had Moon’s best drumming. It’s a shame that there aren’t any complete films of the full performances of Quad and Tommy when the band was in their prime. No band at that time could match the live power of The Who.

Great team buddy. I just own these but I love them. Also have Who's Next but can't seem to find it after the wife and I moved recently.

Yeah, I’m a big Who fan. My best years as a teen were driving aimlessly with friends during the summer listening to The Who, Zeppelin, Floyd and Yes.

Well, I bought tickets for The Who at the Toyota Center in Houston, September 25. Not cheap but less than the Rolling Stones were. $250 each for row 25 on the floor.

I saw the Who at Shea Stadium in Queens NY on Oct 12 and 13, 1982. Great shows, and a great warm up band, The Clash.

Yeah, it was at the NAMM show in Anaheim. He was very standoffish at first but soon warmed up...........a bit. Also, Ginger Baker, Eddie Van Halen, and many more. Never smelled so much leather and hairspray in my life.

I had 4th row seats for the last Houston show and it was amazing. I’ve seen them many times through the years and they’re one of the few bands I’ll pay borderline stupid money to see. I checked Stubhub yesterday and just couldn’t pull the trigger on very close seats, a pair of which are pushing $3k. 14th row were around $750/pair, so I’ll probably get those today. My girlfriend is a big Fleetwood Mac fan, and we have great seats for that one in a few weeks, but these shows are putting a dent in my watch budget and putting me that much farther from my 5712!

I saw that tour but the Pretenders opened. I did get to see the Clash a couple of years later, which was epic!
I had a friend who was bussing tables at the restaurant the band (minus Roger) ended up at after the show in ‘82, and apparently Pete was extremely messed up on a variety of substances and holding court. He went on for hours until even his biggest fans who somehow found him there were exhausted by him and left. Apparently it was pretty pathetic and this period was really a low point for him and the band. His autobiography his quite candid and a great read. You know what they say about meeting your heroes. When I was a kid I frankly was never much of a Daltrey fan, but having seen them so many times and Roger’s charity and workmanlike approach to music and The Who have made him one of my biggest heroes. Truly exceptional human being. |
