Polishing

Hey guys, what’s the best way to polish out some light swirls in my watch? This would be on the side of the case which is highly polished already. Looking to match that luster

Thanks in advance everyone.

Cape cod cloth. Keep it away from brushed areas.

My best advice is to just leave it as is.

Light swirls are a natural thing. You may want to think about the end before you start polishing... Will the part of the watch you polish match parts that you have not polished? How much polishing will you have to do to make everything look the same? Will it look as good as it looked before you started polishing? How long before the swirls return?

I agree. Polishing light swirls is a dangerous game. They will always come back if you are wearing it and at a certain point you are doing more harm than good.

It is much better to just mentally accept the light swirls, they will always come back.

Thanks everyone. I knew that would be the undivided opinion of the group. Thanks for talking me off the edge.

I’ll leave it alone. I know once I start something I won’t stop so it’s best to just leave it alone. I leave it to the RSC in 10 years or so.

Appreciate the insight

Don’t touch it! Leave it to Rolex come service time!

Just leave it like what everyone else suggested. You can do it, but it will never end.

The best you can do for your watch is leave it like that till you are ready to send it out for a good polish.

I agree with everyone. It can take a beating and still look like new after servicing. Wear it and enjoy.

Leave it and let RSC polish them out during service, if you so choose to when that time comes

Best way is to leave it. You'll just get more swirls in s couple more days.
