Well, to answer the second part of your question -- I'd price them at the TZ or eBay asking prices for used watches minus 15%.
This way you aren't generating a false "wealth effect."

(Sorry to necro thread — rules post didn’t ban it and I don’t want to make a duplicate thread)

My rule of thumb is if it is insured, then it is counted as an asset in my net worth calculation. Same with my vehicle (albeit a depreciating asset), my home, and my firearms.

If it is valuable enough to insure against loss, then it is valuable enough to count toward net worth.

Just whats the point in bringing up a thread which is 11 years old start a new one if you must.
