It was a mistake, trading two fine watches for IMO one of the ugliest Rolex ever made. And yes, I have a good friend that has one and I tried it on.

Going to have to strongly disagree. I pretty much had every Rolex model out side by side and kept coming back to the Milgauss. While it isn’t for everyone, it was the watch that “sung” to me.

I’ve had more comments on the Milgauss in one week than wearing all of my other watches combined. No one even knows it’s a Rolex, which is the best part.

Your first watch is your gateway drug, that's the first stage. Stage 2, you want the hard to get SS pieces (like Daytonas, Hulks, Batmans). Stage 3, you want your first Gold piece as your grail watch (such as a Day Date). Stage 4, You want gold in all 3 varieties at the same time in the collection (Yellow, Everrose and White). Stage 5, upgrade to Platinum (maybe even with Diamonds). Stage 6, you don't even "trade-up" for the next watch, but go back to acquiring back every watch you ever traded in during your journey to upgrade to the next Rolex. I am at Stage 4 currently, WG & YG DD 40 and ERG GMT Master. I would love to go Platinum, but that is hard to do for me (Opportunity Cost).

You should buy what you can get at a reasonable price and which you will enjoy. Beyond that nobody knows. Most people use their cell phones for the time and do not wear a watch. Buy what moves you. The future on this stuff is totally unknown.
