Icon7 Grey market Hulk, or AD Daytona, or AD Sea Dweller?

Hey Rolex community. Just joined and happy to find all the great knowledge here. I am ready to add my next Rolex, and am narrowed down to a Sea Dweller, Hulk, or two tone Daytona. I have a Bluesy and a two tone gold GMT II now. I think no chance on an AD Hulk, but could go gray market for ~$12K (pre-owned). I can get a 2-tone Daytona from the AD, or wait 2-3 months for a Sea Dweller from the AD, either at MSRP. I'll add all 3 in the next 18 months or so.

Where do you think Hulk prices are headed? Should I bite the bullet on it now at a premium or stick with MSRP purchases? $3-4K is a big premium on the Hulk, unless it only gets worse ;)

Cheers!

High chance it would go up but you should keep trying to get it from an AD

I doubt it will get worse. I personally would never pay 3K over MSRP for gray market.

Be patient, and get a Hulk from your AD. It will happen.

Get assurance from an AD that if you buy Daytona and sea dweller immediately that you’ll be at the front end of list for a hulk.

I too am in this dilemma. I’m ready to purchase my next piece. I purchased my BLNR from a Trusted Seller here about 2 years ago and I have been on several AD lists for a Ceramic Daytona shortly after that purchase. Back then I was considering either the BLNR or the 116610LV (Hulk) and at the time both were about the same price (about $8k or $9k) for NIB. I’m still on AD lists for a Ceramic Daytona but have gone ahead and added myself to the lists for a Hulk as well. I’ve thought about going with one of our Trusted Sellers to get a Hulk, but I’m going to hold out for a call from an AD. If the Hulk gets discontinued, I’m guessing (probably like mostly everyone else in the forums) that the prices will go the same as the SS Daytona models. If that happens, I won’t spend that premium for a SS model (and will be kicking myself).

What’s even more upsetting is that I’ve passed on several Hulks at ADs in my area and now that I’ve given up hope on a SS Ceramic Daytona and started looking for a Hulk, they can’t be found at my local ADs! I’ve even seen DSSD JC and a SD43 at my local ADs, and just today I saw a DSSD LN, but those are too big for me. One of my local ADs had a WG Daytona on an oysterflex and it was truely stunning, but too much for me.

I’ve even considered getting a blue dial 116622 Yacht-Master NIB (which is my favorite blue dial) but I had a 16622 before and I really want something without PCLs and without the similarities of my BLNR.

Really nice that we have this forum to discuss these issues and try to figure out the best way to go forward.

I think Woof and Siempreko are right...just hold on for a call from your AD. I personally think that the AD stock has still not been replenished from Christmas/Holiday shopping season. Hopefully the ADs will get shipments soon...

Best of luck.

Exactly, negotiate bundled deal. Two tone Daytona + hulk.

Stick to MSRP. You need patience. The hulk will take 2 years on the waitlist I have been told by two ADs, so I wait for the call (Pepsi even 4 years). Maybe you will miss out because it could be discontinued in a year or so, but there will always be another model you are eager to pursue.

I agree 100%. I would never pay above MSRP as I only buy from dealers.
I would go for the Sea-Dweller, it is much nicer than the Sub because of the new case with slimmer lugs and it also has the new movement.
