Daytona's reserved for dealers...?

I think I may have found the reason why the Daytona's are so hard to find in AD's and easy to locate from grey market dealers. After going to various AD's just to chat and browse, sort of like picking their brains, I came to the conclusion that the Daytona may be targeting the grey market in an effort to drive the prices up.

Every AD is either selling these watches at a premium, not so much now, with the economy being the way it is but still at a premium at some AD's -or- these Daytona's are reserved for their best customer. Who's their best customers?...collectors and dealers.

One AD stated that they reserve their Daytona's for customers who spend over 50k and the other said 100k. With that being said, a dealer buys a bulk of five watches at a discount. Trust me, they will give you a discount when you are buying that much. They are not going to lose the sale. Rolex may not give discounts for one watch but certainly they will give you one for five. So basically, you have become their best customer. Then turn around and flip the Daytona for a premium, they are supposedly hard to find, that's because grey market dealers bought them all. If they are hard to find then AD's have no choice but to mark it up at a premium when in fact they know they sell all their exclusive models to these grey market dealers.....I don't think Rolex intended for this to happen or else they would just list the retail price higher. It is a business model that AD's and grey market dealers have that are dictating the supply/demand and prices for the Daytona and these particular models.....
