Seeking Knowledge

Greetings Members!

Has a new member myself, I'm seeking help and guidance trying to find the perfect model for my first Rolex Purchase. I've somewhat narrowed down my search but i'm open to suggestions based on continued research.

So the particular model that I really like is the 1986/1987 DateJust Model #16013. The model has a black index and a stainless steel w/18k yellow gold fluted bezel and bracelet. My ONLY issue with this model is that the case is 36mm and I fee like that's going to be too small for my wrist.

Does anyone know if Rolex has something like this or somewhat similar with a bigger case? Perhaps a 38-42mm?

Thank you for your help and knowledge!!

There is a 41mm Datejust now that is larger than the one you mentioned. Just go to Rolex.com to see the newer DJ.

But the only larger models from those dates you mentioned are 40mm - like the Submariner, GMT and Explorer II.

DJ41 might suit.

Are you looking for a vintage watch? If so you'd want to stick with the 36mm. There were no DJ's larger than 36mm in 86/87

If you're just looking for the color combo, and age doesn't matter, your selection is wide open.

Unless you have very large wrists, the DJ36 is a classic and still very popular watch, it just is somewhat overshadowed by the current fashion style of "bigger watches". If you're concerned about what other people think regarding the size of your watch, buy what you think they'll approve of.
