Why wouldn't I be serious? I know you're trying to be funny, but yes, I'm serious.

The bed is full of lint, which gets in all the creases of a jubilee and bezel, and I rest my greasy ass face on my hand/wrist. And I move around and flop over all night, watch gets pulled and tangled.

Just trying to take care of it. Sleeping with it won't hurt it, but it will make it look dirty, and does put wear and tear, no matter how minimal. And like I said, if I'm asleep, no joy to be had from wearing it. So off it comes.

I haven't read all 4 pages of this thread, but I do the exact same thing, but during the week. When I get home from work, I strip down and take the watch off. On the weekend, I wear a watch because I'm out and bout and need to check the time to be certain places.

And I don't sleep with it. My girlfriend already dislikes all my watches

I only remove my watch at the request of a beautiful woman that has serious intentions...showers, etc. included. And besides how else would I know at o'dark-thirty that I've already been standing there under the shower-head for over 30min....

Of course there's no real reason not to wear a watch while sleeping, I generally don't if I'm in a bed. Maybe in a sleeping bag on a hunting trip or in the back seat of a random unlocked car I'll leave it on but in those cases I'm probably fully dressed.

I am with the crowd that generally takes the watch of once I'm home for the day. Sometimes I'll put on a Seiko diver or something else that I generally wouldn't wear to work for the rest of the day if it seems like it might be useful.

I fully admit my good watches are primarily jewelry.

No offence intended. I genuinely thought you were mocking all the "is it safe to eat pizza/sit in a hot tub/play Monopoly/wear jumpers with my Rolex on" threads.

Always wear a watch in bed. I used to be precious about wearing a Patek or AP whilst asleep due to the polished bezel, but don’t care about such things these days. So whatever I’m wearing during the day, I wear at night.

Only exception is on a Sunday night I wear the Apple Watch as I get up silly early for work so like the additional alarm.

I take it off if at home and wear it to bed while traveling (very frequent) since in a sleepy daze I don't want to leave it in a hotel. Never put it in a hotel safe -- don't trust them.

The only time I ever take a watch off is to rotate it for another one.

That’s why you wear it in the shower too.
