Colorloss around date window??

I have a Root Beer GMT but I have just noticed that around the date window there seems to be a change of color. Can anyone confirm the legitamacy of the watch and whether or not this is just standard wear? What may have caused this?? Thank you!!!

It appears that the paint is failing on the dial. Some of the watches from this timeframe had similar issues. That said, I can not recall if I have seen what appears to be the paint flaking off.

It does appear that the paint is failing. I don't want to assume completely that is the case but it literally looks like the color just change instantaneously. Thank you very much

That being said, if anyone else is knowledgeable about this please do chime in!
