Pet potbelly dies, and I am finding it tuff to handle...

Our family has had two potbelly pigs for about nine years now. This morning the girl, named Lena (Originally Thumbelina because she could fit in your hand when we got her.) passed away from a massive stroke. I think I cried more than for some relatives. In the last few years, I guess I am the only one taking care of them. With two teenagers, it’s hard to get them to feed them or take them outside. Guess I’m just sad I lost my buddy....it’s hard to loose a pet.

Sorry for your loss.

I know the pain. I rarely cry. But when our dachshund of 13 years passed away a couple years ago I cried so much in the subsequent months that my wife was more worried about me than our departed dog. Everything I saw around the house that reminded me of the dog, my eyes welled up.

Your pain will ease with time, but your memories of her will always be the treasure in your heart. Hang in there.

My condolences on your loss. I feel for you my friend. It is difficult to lose a family pet especially one that depends upon you 24/7.
I can also relate about your comment about crying harder than for some relatives. I’ve done the same.

So sorry to hear.
I remember a few years ago talking about how I wanted my bulldog to come meet them.
I know I’ll be a disaster when she goes.
Remember the good times

I'm sorry for your loss. The pain of losing a pet is devastating.

I can relate to crying more over the loss of a pet than a relative.

So sorry.

Pets are such an important part of the family. No matter if they have paws of hooves.

We have lost too many.

Though it’s tough for those of you left behind, find solace in that she’s well now, with no worries or suffering.

Sorry for your loss. A few years ago, our beloved elderly cat passed away and I took it really hard. There is nothing that beats the unconditional love of an animal.

My heartfelt condolences. My dog died last August, old age, stroke, she was 14, still was difficult.
There is not a day goes by I don’t think of her, then the weeping begins.
They are family.

Sorry for your loss. I lost my 11 year old German Shorthaired Pointer this past summer and it was awful. Time heals all wounds.

I hear you on this. I have lost too many pets over the years. I know I am better for having them be part of my life.

Everyone says their Pig is the best, and everyone is right. She looks like a sweet girl that had a happy life. Keep your head up, it gets better.

Thats a shame, but you must seek solace in the fact you gave it a good life,

I own an 8 year old rabbit, had him since he was a baby, he has annoyed the shit out of me over the years with his constant destruction and mess, but he is a very loved animal,

When he goes it will be a sad day, he still seems fine, maybe sleeps more than he used to, but i make a point of letting him do what he likes nowadays, i dont know how long he is going to be around, so he gets double the attention now.

I'm saddened to hear this. Pets are like family members. Very sorry for your loss. :(

I feel your pain. I had to put my dog down on Christmas Eve a few years ago.

I want to thank everyone for their kindness and comfort. Since bring the pig to the vet for cremation, our 1 and1/2 year old Plott Hound has not left my side. Pets seem to have a great capacity for empathy and love.
