Ap 15400ST - Bracelet rigidity

hey i presume this has been discussed before however it seems to me the watch bracelet does not "drape" as say a rolex oyster does. and i refer here to the first few links from the lug.

for example see photo, subC is collapsed on oyster bracelet, 15400 sits tall and proud!

the net effect on the wrist is that the stiff part of bracelet say 3 links down from case "holds" the watch up from there (almost). so part of weight of watch is transferred to wrist bones.

it makes the watch have a very different feel on the wrist. it feels odd, because one would expect to feel the mass of the watch via gravity but it doesn't feel like that, it feels more wrapped around my wrist than pushing down on my wrist. it is a good thing and i presume it is by design.

but i guess it could be the specific fit on me. do others relate?

What I will say with this design is that you definitely have to have the watch for you near perfectly since it doesn’t “drape” like a Rolex.

My 15400st after a few years of daily use almost looks like the sub when on a table

Does it feel weird with that added rigidity or is it not even felt when on the wrist?

Can relate with you. I noticed the difference also between my steel ROs and oyster datejust. The stiffness though allows me to wear the ROs a bit more loosely (as the rigidity prevents the watch from slipping around) and thus share the ROs with my wife who has better bone structure than my wrists made out of chicken bones.

ok so replies indicating this is normal but also perhaps related to the watch not being worn in yet.
i wouldn't say it feels weird. feels pretty good really.
