AP 15450 opportunity
Hello, I’ve the opportunity to acquire a pre owned , serviced by AP, 15450. My wrists are small. I’ve no dealer close, but have been desiring an AP FOR years...are there any known issues with this piece... it’s been serviced and comes with a two year warranty ... buying from trusted seller on this site, so I’ve little concerns about the transaction. I’m a Rolex person mostly.... since my wrists are small, 6.25 inches and I don’t flip watches often, I want an AP for me. I’ve talked to dealers with 15400s and they, via phone, believe a 15400 will be too large. I tend to agree based on reviews of royal oaks wearing larger than their competition. I adore the design, the white dial... the simplicity, movement, heritage, and feel a 37mm would suit me. I own a 5196 37mm from patek and it’s perfectly sized. I also wear a deep blue and it fits, barely. The best fitting watch I own , for me, is a new Pepsi gmt at 40mm without the ugly Rolex lugs on other models.
Are there inherent issues , or were there, with the 15450 crown. I’ve searched the forums and found contradictory information—some claim adjusting the date caused issues and others had no issues . If AP serviced the piece in 2017, would AP HAVE addressed any known issues. I’d like to think yes. The seller has a receipt of service, but the paperwork doesn’t list exactly what was done other than checkups , cleaning, oilng, and calibration. I appreciate your time and really have desired a royal oak for years. I’ve simply found them too large on many wrist photos, wearers whose wrists appear larger than mine when I search their other pics with Daytona’s, sea dwellers and so on. While the piece would be covered, I’d rather just know the issues upfront. The rumor millls and message boards haven’t been kind to AP. Please take no offense. I just am new to AP. |

I have a 6.5in wrist and decided to go with a 15450. I had the opportunity to try on both sizes before purchasing.
Totally agree with you getting a 15450 size-wise Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Well, it’s a stunning piece, my friend. Wear it in good health. I don’t have the luxury of trying on these pieces. Ironically, I’ve Rolex and patek ADs nearby. Just no AP.

I recently acquired one and find it to be a great piece. Love the fit and finish and the dial is stunning!

I’ve only had this about a week so can’t say much as pertains to long term serviceability/durability/etc., but I can tell you I absolutely love this watch. much prefer the case size/dial layout of this over the 15400, and the movement on the 15450 fits the caseback much better if you care about that sort of thing.
I’m not really sure of my wrist size but you’d mentioned you’re a rolex guy so I included a GMT and a sub on my wrist for comparison’s sake. |

Saw a 15450 white at a boutique in Europe.. They said they’ve had it for a month as well, so they can be found. Put my name down for a waitlist for the blue 15450.

Thanks, everyone. I have a trusted seller looking for one, for me. If there's an AD out there reading this.. I might be interested!

Go for the 15450. You will have zero regrets. I have the 15450 blue dial and it fits my relatively round ~6.5” wrist perfectly.

Thanks. I have access to a pre owned white dial.. and am ironing out details. I would be open of course to a brand new purchase, if I can even find one new anywhere. in the pictures, the white dial honestly is my favorite and isn't too sought after, does not seem.

The white looks beautiful. I think the demand for white will continue to increase, especially with future mainstream AP products (such as the 15500) not being available in white.

That I did not know. if the prices climb too high, even for this opportunity, I'll simply do without. in my opinion, a white gold daytona, right now, is a bargain by comparison.
