A watch on a strap should be worn above the wristbone. I rarely wear a long sleeve shirt unless unless it's with a sportcoat or suit, thus straps only, no bracelets.

As for what I do, I don’t really think about it other than to make sure my watch can slide under my cuff.... if it comes out to say “hi” due to a movement of my arm, so be it.
