Finally got a classic Submariner 16610
I always said that if I could ever have only one watch, it would be a classic Rolex Submariner. I have a Sea Dweller and a Bluesy Submariner but never owned a 16610. That just changed. Didn't want a more modern one so waited until the "right" one came along. 1995, Tritium dial and in tremendous condition with maybe the merest hint of a polish.
The tritium is definitely a creamier colour than the Superluminova on the 2005 Sea Dweller which just makes it even better. Give me 3 lemons to suck to take the smile off my face :-) |

Congratulations on the new sub. I too am still looking for the "right" sub. I have two GMT's but really want the classic.
How long did it take you to find "the one"? |

That looks like a great one! Congratulations!! As time goes by I appreciate my 5 digit more and more compared to any of the 6 digits I've owned.

Classics they are.
Congratulations. That you were patient in your search I'm sure makes the acquisition even more pleasurable. |

I really did hum and ha over one for years. I guess it was the feeling that everyone had one and I wanted to be a little different. I've had the 2 tone Sub for years but my wife commandeered it. I had the GMT Master Pepsi and thought of changing the bezel insert to the all black to see if that would scratch the itch.
I had a Sea Dweller and sold it as I rarely wore it but then bought another one as it was a classic Rolex but wasn't as often seen out and about. But in the end I realized that there was a very good reason why the Submariner was as popular as it is. Its a darn fine watch and a true classic. Almost pulled the trigger a couple of times over the last year or so but finally when I saw this I knew it was time to get the checkbook out. |

Perfectly proportioned Sub. Blows away the 116610 by a mile. Classic gentleman’s Rolex at its finest.

The 5 digit case will always be my favourite. Don't get me wrong, the 116610 has a superior bracelet and I do appreciate the larger hands and markers but the 16610 is "the one". |

Had one years back. Sold it. Regret it ever since. Looking for the perfect one again. The best all around classic Rolex in my opinion.
