CAD Drawings are in!

Just got the CAD drawings back from the jeweler for the engagement ring! Big day is May 16th at Lake Louise in Banff!

I based it off the Tiffany Soleste. I asked about the CAD drawings being a little “chunky” but he assured me it’s just the drawings and will come out perfect!

I should have the final ring in 2-3 weeks! Stay tuned!

Not to rain on your parade, but I’d surmise that those lower 3-4 diamonds on each side are not going to feel pleasant against the other fingers.
Often times, less is more in design, and my personal thought is you’ve gone overboard with the encrusted shank.
Assuming she’s not the shallow type, what’s on top would be more than enough to guarantee that’d she be extremely grateful and pleased with it.
Just a bit of food for thought.

The diamonds in the band have never bothered my wife, what did happen, though was that they were grinding down her wedding band so the jeweler had to weld them together

Appreciate the input, but I have seen a lot of rings that she prefers and they have all had the diamonds done the shank about 2/3 of the way.

At the end of the day it’s just a setting and can always be changed as style changes!

Congratulations in advance. You better be careful reading this thread that she doesn't see the pics over your shoulder Haha, or do something silly like leave your computer or laptop on with the thread open. It won't be much of a surprise then. Good luck with the proposal

What’s with the four protruding spikes ? The left arm of all her clothing will be shredded.

Nice ring but have to agree with this. Those spikes will catch anything including sheer materials. If you have them removed the top looks like it would have a nice smooth surface.

This is the cad drawing on how the mould will be made. This is not EXACTLY how it will look. This is pre finishing, polishing, setting, etc. The prongs will be bent down and look like a normal ring.

Hey if you leave the prongs up, you could tell her it's the Game of Thrones edition.

That’s likely going to be a real problem anytime taking clothes on or off. Additionally playing with small children and the like, things will get scratched, bumped, and the like.

It is just the CAD drawings the will be bent down to secure the stone like any other ring lol no crown ring here!

And if the flanking rows of diamonds going down each side are channel set, rather than pronged in the drawing, they will be less prone to any scrubbing.

Congrats and looks great! Am sure they'll ensure those side smaller diamond surface is smooth so as to not irritate her adjoining fingers.

I'm guessing you already know this but Lake Louise is about 40 minutes from Banff. About 35 miles.

Congratulations.
