Anyone attend Barrett Jackson?

I was at the auction, noticed as always DD's (a popular watch with auto wholesalers / dealers) some Subs and a few Daytonas in that order. Mixed bag of other brands Panerai was popular, as expected many chronographs, I noticed more higher end watches (in percentage) at the Russo And Steele auction.

Did anyone else attend either auction?

I wanted to go but I ended up getting to busy with the wife and kids. It would have been a great time but family time is always more fun for me.

My wife and I were there on the last day, just looking, not bidding.
Being an old car guy from the UK it was neat to see all the older English cars, Austin Healey, early Minis etc.
It seemed fairly quiet, I'm sure all the action was prior to Sun.
Ended up watching the last 1/2 hr of the game in the "Garage" tent.

I was there wednesday afternoon, and saturday night for some of the action. Wednesday was great, got to walk around and see everything. The "action" was fun for about 20 minutes, but after that i longed for my couch and the speed channel. maybe because i wasnt bidding...

It was my first time in 7 years and what a difference! i couldnt believe how big it had gotten, and how many more people were there.

Greg, if you anything, you are consistent. With your luck you will be buried in Houston.. I am smiling with you and not at you my friend.

I spent a little time at Gooding & Co., and I drove by there today as all of the vehicles were being prepped and loaded to transport them to their lucky new owners. I drove by just as (I think) a Hispano Suiza was going up the ramp. I think I enjoyed seeing that more than the actual auctions.

Cheers,

Chris

Greg:

I wanted to leave Arizona until Trader Joe's and In N Out came to town. Don't ask me how I know that before coming to town the closest In N Out was on Ramon Road in Indian Wells, 272 miles from Phoenix.

Dang, I'm hungry now for a Double Double.

Cheers,

Chris

My wife wants to move to Arizona. I've always lived no more than 3 miles from an In n Out. My current In N Out is a 1/2 mile from my house. Sometimes I'll run there to justify it.

I really, really, really do not want to move to Arizona. But I really, really, really hope the Cardinals stomp the Steelers in the Super Bowl.

Well, Erik, I never ran 272 miles to the Ramon Road In N Out, but I drove pretty fast to get there! If I had run there, though, I wouldn't have felt guilty about getting a chocolate shake for the road.

I lived in HB for many many years and understand the attraction.

Keep thinking the good thoughts about the Cards.

Cheers,

Chris

Watched good chunks of it on the tube, much closer to reality this year I thought.
Friday night my chapter of the NCRS had our annual dinner, we had a private room in the restaurant and had it on the TV after dinner. Good fun every time a vintage Vette came up, we'd all guess at what it would go for.
I had previously seen one of our guys with a datejust, this time he had a GMT. I asked him about it, turns out he also collects Rolexes. He asked about my 1016, before you knew it a bunch of the guys were taking a look. They found it cool that it was 42 years old, all vintage car guys.
