Rolex Daytona 16528 Gifted By F1 Driver Ayrton Senna.
The watch is really nice but I have no idea if this one will be a hit or the fact that it was just a gift and not his personal watch will hurt the final price too much.

Beautiful watch. Big Senna-McLaren fan...but I almost certainly can’t afford.

My favorite F1 driver of all time! This is the only Rolex I know (as recent as the announcement of this auction) that's associated with this driver. He's always been an ambassador for Tag; and was always seen wearing a quartz S-EL!

Mansour Ojjeh of the TAG Group was one of the principals of the McLaren F1 team during that time so yes TAG watches were part of the program. Not sure if the Senna connection is enough to double or triple this watch's price.
On an unrelated note, Mansour Ojjeh was also the financier of the McLaren F1 road car program. A gentleman in my city purchased Ojjeh's original personal F1 around 2008 for about $4M, they're now worth north of $20M. I had the pleasure of seeing this car and talking to its owner a few years back. He told me he has the TAG watch that came with it, with its chassis number on the dial. |

On a side note there's an error on the engraving. The right preposition in portuguese would be 'de' instead of 'da'. This is the only error-engraving Daytona that I've ever seen lol.

Just seems a little sad that the watch is being passed on.

Nice watch but never could understand the "halo" premium for watches, cars ect based on who the previous owner was. At least the Paul Newman daytona I get as it really is a significant piece of the brand history not to mention the name of the model.
