I doubt it RSC Bexley UK are almost bullet proof.
It is very very rare to hear complaints about Rolex UK.

Did your friend ask for polishing with the service? sometimes RSC will not polish the case or bracelet if not specified.

C'mon guys, I too work in the service industry. Although my standards of workmanship are EXTREMELY HIGH (no pat on the back here mate). I
do also realize things "can happen" and they do. I am more inclined to
think this was somewhat of a rarity given the amount of refurbishment
work they must do. Also given the rest of the watch refurbishment was fine.

No i'm not defending Rolex Toronto, nor did I work on this watch. I think
sometimes we lose sight that we are "human" and are inclined to make mistakes and NO DOUBT THEY DID.

That being said no it SHOULD NOT have been sent back. Yes it should have
been checked throughly but it was not.

We hold Rolex to a higher standard as we should, however I think just sometimes we lose sight of the "human factor" that is always at play
in anything we do. I have little doubt the service technician that worked
on this watch would be thoughly embarrassed.

Let's give them a break.

Just my 2 cents. Sorry for the rant

Cheers

Because I am rather reluctant to believe everything an AD says, I'd like to confirm this here. Thanks in advance. Also, is there any other difference between their watchmaker and another watchmaker at another Canadian AD?
That statement is 100% WRONG, the watchmaker at Damiani Jewellers in Woodbridge services about 400 Rolex watches per year, and that's a fact!

He does all my watch repair work and as far as Rolex Canada is I'll have to agree that they have a "don't care attitude",
kinda like it's beyond them to repair something simple like a spring bar.
I'd send the watch back and demand it be fixed or replace the bracelet, end of story.

Thanks for the info. One more question, does your watchmaker provide you with a Rolex international warranty after servicing your watch? According to Brinkhaus, only their watchmaker and the Toronto HQ can do this....

I'm pretty sure Rolex will issue a fresh one-year warranty after a full service to any of their models.

I suggest you read my prior post in this thread about my experiences with Rolex Canada.

Anything short of Rolex Canada replacing the bracelet with a new one is a dis-service to this gentleman.

Remember, everytime you polish or brush metal, you loose some metal from the bracelet. To send this watch back in so that Rolex Canada can grind some more metal off in order to even it out is nonsense, especially considering some of that metal being grinded off is gold and gold goes for $898 a troy-ounce in today's market.

If I were the gentleman, I'd try as hard as heck to get a new bracelet. If not, file in small-claims court. He'll get his money within a couple months.

Judging from the first pic I would'nt have thought those divots could have been polished out. They looked to be pretty deep. Hard to believe they were just buffed out in 2 minutes. Looks like a lot of matel had to be removed to smooth those links out. The jeweler sure did a nice job for you though, looks great. Now wear it and show it off!

I'm sure that a warranty will apply to Damiani Jewellers only, not sure if Rolex Canada or even an International warranty will apply. I also forgot to mention that they're an authorized Rolex service center.

I recently made inquiry to Rolex HO in Toronto and was advised that I could have my watch serviced locally thru Brinkhause and that their facility only is a factory trained tech (not Monte cristo or Palladio) and all applicable service warranties would apply..
FYI

Whiskey I just believe Rolex Toronto should be given a CHANCE to correct
their mistake and to make it RIGHT. To the customer's satisfaction of course.

cheers

Tom,
Completely agree with you... they were very deep, and for me there was no chance of polishing them out. Congrats to the jeweler!
