shipping a rolex

every rolex i have purchased or sold has been face to face. i currently have someone interested in my 18k yachtmaster, and it would need to be shipped from georgia to virginia. who would yall recommend shipping this watch with? will they insure a $25k watch? im just as nervous as the buyer is about shipping, i really want everything to go smoothly. thanks a lot guys.

USPS Registered mail has insurance available to $25,000.

For 25K, as the buyer, I'd figure strongly that it would be cheaper and safer to just buy a plane ticket, and fly to pick it up.

What's a 2-way aero-bus ticket these days between the two states? $200?

thank goodness our mailing system here in North America has amazing standard and ethical workers. i've shipped two watches from canada to US one is a SUbmariner and the other one is a daytona. i did not even insure them. but i used UPS.

Never shipped anything close to that expensive. But I always used FedEx (I know they do not insure past $500 I think), I just trust them the most.

have shipped 150k watches but that requires a seperate third party insurance... its just easier to send that fly..

usps is not a problem for up to 25k REGISTERED MAIL.. 25k will probably only cost around 60$ depending on weight of box and dimensions

takes about a week max.. wouldnt worry at all they havent lost anything since like 1904 with registered... just make sure info is correct on label

you should really look into a third party insurance company. they use fedex/ups as couriers and insure them... ups/fedex only go to 500 on jewelry.. with a third party setup u can go to 1 million without a hassle.. prices are very fair too.

But and it is a big "but" because it is $25K watch.

I would make the drive...GA to VA is not that far of a drive. Please pick a good size lobby bank for the transaction. If it was lost or damaged the time take for an insurance claim isn't worth it.

USPS Registered Mail is the best. I've sold and shipped a few over the years and shipped them in this manner with no issues.

I have shipped a 16k watch...and used USPS...i didnt insure it i just ship it next day delivery with signature confirmation cost me $35...USPS usually never loose packages especially next day delivery with signature confirmation...Because package is constantly moving...Sometimes its all in the mind..you are the only one knows whats in the package.. everytime i ship a watch i always think that im just shipping a package that is worth $50 thats needs to be in its destination next day...and i never loose it... Never ever ship an item on a saturday...you item will be sitting in the warehouse on a sunday...Monday is the best day to ship next day deliivery...but of course its better safe than sorry...but most of the time they never loose any package with a signature confirmation on it....

why would you not insure it if its only about 15-20$ more to insure? what if they did lose? would you feel comfortable losing 16,000 while saving 20$?

I would send it USPS registered, overnight, with return receipt requested. And insure it! All bases covered.

Cheap insurance for a good night's sleep.

there is zero possibility of me sending this thing uninsured! it seems foolish to me. if you can afford a watch that expensive, why not spend the few extra dollars for peace of mind? thanks again guys for your help!
