I think it looks nice but would rather have the 26400IO for similar money.

Too grey for me and i prefer something that stands out. Maybe a change in the strap color might work for me.

I vote for elephant with ghost ceramic bezel:)

Both are great pieces, have owned elephant and still miss it sometimes...

Thank you for sharing :)

The elephant is more grey/black while this one is more grey/white combo. Having worn the elephant in the past I gravitate more towards the ghost because of the titanium making it an easy daily wear.

The vote is pretty even so far - forum's divided on this one.

Tried it on at the AD and as I always liked the pics of the ghost it was too grey and too pale and plane for me.

agreed. i think it would look nicer if everything was a shade darker. the ceramic bezel also needs to be a darker grey

I can't comment on looks but it's not for me-- as many good things as I've heard about it-- b/c it's too grey. I prefer an offshore with some color.

With respect to value retention, I think the current market is skewing things, but long term, none of the ROO hold their value all that well. AP is making the argument (I've discussed this with their boutique) that this will change moving forward b/c of tighter distribution/boutique only model that doesn't offer discounts, but this remains to be seen.

I hope they're right b/c no one wants to see these watches lose 40% of their value in 3-5 years.

......but then the name ‘ghost’ wouldn’t fit.

I always find these queries interesting. IMO buy what you like, especially luxury items at these price points. Otherwise we'd all just be wearing Rolex subs

I agree. ROO in general with some exceptions will not be as timeless and versatile as the Royal Oak. It's still basically a fashionable / fun watch for outdoor / weekend activity and as new and more interesting design and refs comes out, it will move existing models down the value retention chain.

I think with the Ghost you have to see in person and wear. With lighting that grey dial highlights and pops the white numbers, silver dials and white/silver time hands. Then the dial is surrounded by a reflective grey bezel that has the silver AP screws which are highlighted and pop. And then the titanium base highlights and offsets the whole piece. It is very elegant. Photograph will never do it justice, needs to be seen and worn in person. Picture above of it by elephant is not how it really looks in person. And as always is all taste preference.

To each his own but I bought the watch because it is very monochromatic. It pairs well with any color and I like the stealth look. The grey ceramic bezel really changes color in different lighting conditions which is cool.

It is a good and smooth looking watch as you say, I would have preferred a black bezel to contrast more and punch out the dial and grey pushers more, but then the black bezel is common already so I understand the call.

If it has the grey bezel maybe a black dial with grey subdials would be good.

I never liked this watch but traded my 116509 white gold steel/black dial for it after I saw it in person, completely fell in love with it at that point.

I threw on a red band for the summertime, and will likely switch between black/original/and red strap often throughout the summer depending on occasion: Here are some shots...
