UPS COD Services?

First post here just wanted to get some insight, planning to sell a watch, buyer suggested to go the COD route, does anyone here have experience using this form of payment?

I used to receive stuff from a company COD and it was great. I imagine it’s pretty safe as they don’t release the goods without a certified check or money order but you still have to worry about fake checks being passed off I imagine. My checks were always made out to the company I was dealing with. I’m not sure how good the people are at spotting fake ones, or how convincing they are but I imagine anything could be done now adays

That's what I was thinking, who is responsible for viewing the check? The driver?

I would personally steer clear of COD, there are many versions of scams out there that utilize COD in some fashion.

Safest way for me would be meeting at a bank; my bank that is.

And if they don't buy the watch, put it in the safety deposit box so they won't have any way to steal it from you, especially after you leave the premises.

I’ve sold a lot of watches personally and I would never do COD. I take wires but a lot of people are not comfortable sending wires. PayPal is really easy for buyers because there are good consumer protections in place. I make people pay the fee though for G&S. I’ve done cash deals in person. In my experience if someone is willing to meet you in a bank, they are probably not going to try to rip you off. I deposit the money before I leave and if selling suggest the buyer do the same - no worries about counterfeit money or getting jumped on the way to the car for either party. I even did a face to face where I brought my laptop and wired the money after looking at the watch. Was too much cash for me to be comfortable carrying and the seller and I used the same bank so it was easy online.

Long story short there are tons of ways to do a safe transaction without having to do COD.
