As you said, you're new here. This forum has changed dramatically in the past couple of years. Peter is a gem and this forum will be a much diminished place in his absence.

That suit fits right in with the way so many mellenialls have been coddled and protected while growing up. Probably could sell those things.

Reminds me of a movie which scared the hell out of me when it came out. Had nightmares for years.

I agree with you, but also with the poster you quote, it does get old hearing all the negativity. Why subject ones self to something that makes them miseralble.

Funny thread. Some great responses. Wait lists....

You would be happy to know Peter, that some of us still believe Rolex to be tool watches and built like tanks. We wear them because they are awesome and should be worn. No thoughts about investments, the market or is it safe. Just put it on and whatever the day brings the day brings.

Lol. Get back to us on that. You should be asking is it safe to wear a Rolex while being skewered for being just about the dumbest human to currently walk the Earth.

As I was thinking about this, I realized that Rolex watches, if anything, are better made today than they used to be

Which leads me to believe that the watches themselves are still tools, what have changed are the people

Is it safe to keep it...

...in a safe for long periods of time?

Surely oils will dry out. Just kidding.
