It might be difficult to wear my Sub on anything other than a NATO since it has fixed bars.

I’ve had my heart set on a oysterflex for my GMTII but doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. Thinking Everest

I run a Rubber B with the orange stripe on my explorer II

And one of my favorite combos is the new Air King with a black Rubber B with a green stripe. Someone here on TRF had one for sale last year. I thought it made that watch amazing.

NATO black, Khaki, Blue, tricolor (French flag) I like the different look they create
I always change the bracelet with a strap.

Why not?

If pleasing to YOUR own eyes, comfortable to wear, i dont see a problem in doing so.

I don't know about Tudor, but Omega's latest price increase seems to have addressed that. I now see a 300 euros price difference between a Speedy Racing on leather deployant (8,000 euros) and on bracelet (8,300 euros), which is about right. It used to be about 100 euros price difference indeed.

I have worn my 14060, 16610 and 16600 on straps.

Just for a change.

I have plenty of times. It changes up the look of the watch completely.

I had a black leather rallye strap on my Daytona a few years back when I was racing. It was much more comfortable under my racing suit than the SS band.

I've also had my sub on various NATO straps to match what I'm wearing. Love the look.

Absolutely! I wear a Speedmaster Pro with a 11 dollar nato strap. It takes the watch from "stogy old man's watch" to "Modern man's watch". As soon as I get my Rolex, that metal band is coming right off and it's going to live out its time in the box.

As much as I love the Oyster... There's something very very cool about a sports model on a NATO. Love this colour matched NATO on my 16710. Just screams SUMMER!

Funny that's exactly what my wife said, stogy old man's watch, when the sub was on the bracelet. Got a rubber b and instantly she said much more modern.

Because it's goofy.

Spent WAYYY to much on straps for SubC, Explorer and 58 to realize bracelet is king. Straps were soooo cool, for all of a day - then back to Oyster. Now I have a stock pile of useless straps.

Would never put an aftermarket strap on your ROLEX sports

I love swapping out the bracelet for a nice leather strap.

Changing straps is a good way to get a different look for little cost.

I like the old school look of a tropic strap on my Explorer II.

This is slim evidence but I thought it was sufficiently worth a chuckle. The Comedy Channel was down, so next best thing was the RSC in the city. Had a couple of questions and thought I'd accidentally called the Department of Motor vehicles or 'Roads and Maritime Services' as they have here. Bureaucracy at its absolute finest.

You'd have thought that I was asking for the RSC phone hopper's banking password.
I asked the worst question a guy could ask:

Q. "Will you sell me an Oysterflex" (for a model not originally specified for one)
A. "No of course we won't".

Q. "If I buy a well reviewed, branded aftermarket strap such as RubberB or Everest, does that have any impact on your ability to service the watch?".
A. "Im many cases we may choose not to accept the watch for service. We will not touch, remove, manipulate or reinstall an aftermarket strap which means that if cannot be removed for service, the service may not be possible. The aftermarket strap may well interfere with or even invalidate the Rolex five year warranty".

Seems like they've graduated to an uptight little script for the less talented phone operator.

A scene from the Stepford wives perhaps.

Personally I prefer the oyster bracelet. I think they look great and enhance the watch aesthetics.
