Why the Rolex Rolex Rolex on any model, just once on the dial is fine for me I know I am wearing a Rolex and don't need reminding. Now the serial at 6 thats a good thing but IMO the Rolex Rolex Rolex is quite tacky looking.

Not a fan of the Rolex engraving, I think the older models have more class without all the extra advertising. The SD is a good example of past Rolex heritage and does not need to be littered with this frippery

The SD never received the engraving. Even V-series SD don't have the engraving.

I don't think it looks cheap and i like the fact you get the serial at the bottom of the ring too! Also the 16710s did not get it either!

If its barely noticeable just whats the point of putting there, serial is a good thing. But the rest sorry not for me just once on the dial where the word Rolex belongs.

The engraving is a security thing against counterfeits

Nobody can copy it perfectly

I've seen lots of replica pics and none has the engraving identical to the genuine rolex because rolex is using a laser when engraving the watch

And whenever you buy a new rolex you can check if the serial number of the watch matches the credit card number which is a bit more safe for the buyer IMO

Would agree about serial but don't be too sure about the security thing Rolex Rolex counterfeits are getting that good. The best way is still get the back off if not sure that one thing they have not been able to replicate yet.

I can't say for sure what their reasoning is for not including it on the SD but I assume it's because the SD is considered a no nonsense tool watch and it wouldn't look right. Unlike the rest of the namby-pamby Rolex line-up.
