registered mail
i am considering a timepiece under registered mail delivery. i have had a bad experience where this took 3 weeks to arrive. Any thoughts on this?

Why is that a bad experience?
Registered mail is slow but it is the safest way to send something

I have used it for a number of years and for a dozen or more Rolex shipments. Never been a problem

It can be very slow, and tracking can be off, but it's very safe. And the insurance is actually insurance (FedEx etc isn't).
The Rolex Service Center insists on registered mail. That should be testimony enough that it's a good way to ship. |

It’s only bad when it doesn’t arrive. It’s the only way a RSC will accept a watch. That has to count for something.

As a retired postal clerk, let me assure you that this is the safest way to send any high value item, everyone one who touches it, signs for it also kept locked up.

Op does not say if he is sending or receiving.. if I am buying a watch I want fed ex overnight sig required. I am not waiting snail mail..lol
