Blitz Cloth?

Recently bought a Miami Cuban link chain and the jeweler was kind enough to throw in a Blitz Polishing Cloth. Used it on my DD and wow. Inner cloth basically turned black even though I keep my watch really clean and the outer shined it to where it looks new. Anyone else use one?

Must be similar to a cape cod cloth.

Those also turn black with use.

I believe the black is just the oxidation from the metal that is the residue on the cloth.

When stainless steel is exposed to oxygen, chromium oxide is created on the surface of the steel because chromium has a very strong affinity for oxygen. (They like each other)

When you clean aluminum wheels on a car or motorcycle the same black comes off.
