Rolex 16570 R serial date disc
Hi all, I recently acquired a R serial 16570 Circa 1988 but apparently the date disc is not open 6” and 9”. It is correct or should I be concern and period correct? Thanks.

It's close to the cross-over to closed "6s" and "9s," so your date wheel could be original. My (former) R-serial DJ did have open "6s" and "9s." Either way, no reason for concern.

Thanks for quick clarification. A pity mine is not but really love the open 6s and 9s.

If I manage to source for a open 6s and 9s date disc from 16550 will it fit on my 16570? I saw from the web serial till L still carries the open 6s and 9s. Thanks.

I found a seller selling 16550 datewheel for $325 is it worth it?
