I am more than a little curious as to why you have never started your own thread on this forum?

If you don't like threads like this one cluttering up the place, then wouldn't a more effective way to deal with it be to post topics that aren't valuation related?

It just makes no sense. All these people complaining about the content, but they never do anything about it themselves -except whine .

It's happening with PM right now as Rolex as been selling itself short for quite some time now.

Easy availability of SS Sports watches (Daytona excluded) led to the general public under spending what they expected on a Rolex.

Now that the SS Sports references are less available, the true market interest is being revealed. People will buy PM...and buy it without discount.

The full power of the Rolex brand is finally being unleashed.

Good question. I enjoy watches, I really do. I just don't feel the need to start a topic on them. Perhaps I'm not quite the enthusiast others are. That being said, I have started thread topics or have asked for practical advice on other forums. I'll contribute back at the right time, I promise.

Have you noticed Daytona’s on Oysterflex are creeping up?

$28.8k MSRP, used to go on gray market around $26k, now they are asking over $30k

The result of the poll is like science. When it comes to the future; nobody knows - we might just flip a coin and the chances for this or that is like the poll says - 50/50.

Well...the poll question is a bit imprecise. Would be a better question to say will some or will select PM pieces start behaving like SS pieces.

I thought it was interesting to read the NYT article about the YG Green Daytona, and the quote from the new Rolex CEO suddenly turned a lightbulb off in my head about how they are intentionally driving demand for the PM watches. Between the SS allocation and then limited runs on a few PM watches they hop will get hot and become collectable, designed specifically to appeals to the fans with certain consumers in mind. The Rainbow Daytona and now YG Green Daytona seem to fall in line with this product strategy.

So anyways, 95% of the time no, 5% of the time yes.

Many PM are already difficult to source.

Interesting thought. Corollary question is whether they’d be long wait lists too?

When you say PM does that include TT. I see TT sports retaining their value if not increasing. Especially Daytona TT, and GMT Root Beer, and maybe Sub Bluesy too.

Going to get much crazier. Expect people to be paying 40+ for the ceramic Daytona. The green dial will be worth more than the platinum.

No full pm only. And I was hyper concentrated on

Gmt
Subc
Daytona

Not on skydweller, cellini or daydate / datejusts

I agree with you. The people I deal with in Ontario and Florida are not interested in discounting PM. Apparently people are buying. Even a WG Sub the other day, any discount we might have purchased the watch. Nothing, and we have bought a lot of watches from these people. Same with the Plat Daytona. A member who has bought a ton of PM watches was told no discount.
