New WG Daytona at AD - no box or papers??

First I’m new here and have only started my Rolex obsession 11 months ago. In that time I have collected 4 Rolex’s for myself, one for my dad and one for my wife. I have only bought at AD’s.
Recently I went to a AD and they had what was referred to a a “new old stock” white gold Daytona with a silver face, red accents and the 1,2,4,5,7,8,10,11 arabic numbers on the dial. I haven’t posted enough to have permission to post pics. They told me that the dial had been discontinued and that Rolex gave them permission to put it in their discount case at 30% off, but the box and papers were not available. They quickly reversed on the box and manual part but they said that Rolex already had them destroy the warranty card in order for the watch to be put in the discount case with the used watches. He made it to sound like it was a common practice. The Watch has a couple of stickers left on it here and there and they look like they are falling off.
I offered 25K out the door and was turned down and countered with 26k plus tax. I declined and when I got to my truck was glad that I didn’t get it.
Two months ago while I was in that same store, I tried on what I believe was the same exact watch from the regular display. I purchased a DSSD instead but that Daytona was still on my mind.
Does anyone here know if that’s how Rolex handles discontinued models? I have been to 2 AD’s since and they said that they have never heard of that.

AD's are independent businesses, they are not Rolex.

As to pictures, anybody can attach photos if they meet the size parameters.
