Hold off for awhile and give it some thought. Don't do anything without really thinking it over as it would be a shame to regret flipping the Hulk.

Keep your hulk, it's easy being green.

If I were to trade it, it would be for a SD43.

Regardless, is the general thought in this fine forum on the Hulk to hold at this point? I’m not trying to time the market, or speculate, just want this groups opinion as to what they’d do.

Thanks in advance!

I would at least wait until next Basel - if it discontinues you will get 2-3k more in your trade

SD43 all day long. I like the bigger size and wider bracelet, gorgeous red-line and has much presence and it wears really nice on a flat 7.25” wrist. Thickness is inconsequential, a non-issue for me and not as big a deal as people like to moan about. Many dive watches are this thick if not thicker! If you have worn Seiko turtles, Seiko tunas, Sinn U1 watches, Doxa or Planet Oceans, then the SD43 is right in there for wearability if not better.

I've never owned a hulk nor SD43 but from point of view, I would keep the green.

It’s perfect balance and slightly thinner profile makes it the perfect piece to wear every day.

The SD is a fantastic watch, but my favourite is the LV.

Cheers

This The SD is just a 42mm Sub while the LVC is really special - there’s no green dial on the planet like it

Yep would keep the green. Doesn’t matter if this is a bubble, real or artificial. Bottom line is the price keeps going up on the Hulk and that’s for one reason, people keep buying them at the higher prices. If they discontinue it, you know people will pay even more then.

I’d hang on to hulk and put a deposit for the SD. Wait it out while enjoying your watch. Then when the call comes. You have both and can sell the hulk then or enjoy both. This way you sell hi and buy low.

The market is in your favor now. The future is speculation.

I also think this. The grays had a bunch of Hulks. Then over 3 weeks there were almost none listed anywhere. Then a bunch got listed, starting with DavidSW for $15+k used and 17+k new. Seemed like folks were holding a bunch off the market waiting for the new pricing to hit. But as supply increases someone will lower their prices to meet demand. I think we are seeing this with the Oyster BLNR now. Prices have held/walked back at a line rather than continue to increase. Hard to see how these continue to approach $20k. I’m not sure how this really should factor into the OP’s decision.

Now's a good time to trade given the premium and how quickly it has risen. I wouldn't be shocked if it went up further -- $20k within a year is definitely possible -- but I think there's also a good chance it goes down to $11-12k in the same period if production increases, the economy dives, etc. If you're happy with the current premium, go for it and don't worry if it goes up further -- you still did well and it's impossible to time the top perfectly.

Hulk trade?

If you do trade be sure to grab a SD50 MK1 dial. Prices are just starting to creep up on it, and once the cat is out of the bag it will continue to rise. Think Kermit flat 4.
I am already seeing sellers asking for a higher prices over the current mod due to the MK1’s future collectibility.

Thanks for the advice everyone. After some careful consideration, I'm keeping the Hulk - and added my name to the list for the SD43.

AD says it will be 3-6 months out to get it, as I'm #2 on the list - but I can wait patiently.... for now.

wise decision and I did the same. Sd43 isn't very hard to get, at least in US

Mk1 is almost impossible to get from AD through. But I agree go for the MK1 if it is an option.

I have both and love both. SD43 is my daily. But if I had to keep one, it’d be the hulk.
