Polishing Damaged Lug of Under Warranty Hulk at RSC?
Guys,
Accidentally, I banged my 6 mths old Hulk to the wall and damaging the lug....it's quite small but bothering me a lot....can't have it for the next 5/10 years..... So is it possible for RSC to have it polished but keeping the warranty? Or maybe better to send it to local polisher? But I'm afraid it will make the warranty void.... Regards,

Independent will void the warranty and Rolex themselves do not polish outside of a service.

That looks nasty....
Beware... if you sent it to the wrong person it will look worse than it does now and wipe £1000s off the value. I feel for you Just remember the lady with the Jooltool Link https://youtu.be/21DrOx3RjDA . |

I dont mind paying for the polish at RSC...as long as the warranty would still valid....

Looks like the only answer is to send it to a RSC now for a service and repair or wait for the first service.
I can understand why Rolex would want to check out the movement after the case has been damaged.

Would RSC notice if my trusted repairer polishes it? I know he is very good at it....

He probably doesn't have the correct Rolex tools like lapping machine, belt sander. Yes they will notice. |

I did the same to my explorer II. Having seen the RSC polish jobs, they can definitely fix it up, but I think you’re better off waiting until the next service. You’ll get more dings

Looks like normal-ish wear and tear. If it’s keeping time leave it be.

I done something similar to a datejust41. I took it to rsc and they said i was worrying about nothing and it would be a waste of money as they would have to charge for a service in order to do the repair........ Nearly £600.

Funny stuff. Debating with an RSC watchmaker. Really funny.

No way! Not for that. Eventually when serviced, will never even know that was there.

Leave it until the first service. Wear the watch and enjoy the battle scars.

Anyways, I am finding this whole new mentality of polishing out every ding or scratch within weeks or months of owning a watch to be troubling. They're watches, they're meant to be worn. I also try to maintain my watches are pristine as possible, but shit happens, and I'm content to only deal with it at service. |

Yes but the OP said he’s not going to wait 5-10 years and honestly life’s just too short for that. If it bothers someone, they can fix it. I had a couple crappy scratches on my DJ41 and many told me to just live with it. I couldn’t. So for $15 and 5 minutes of pleasant work, the cape cod took it out and I love it once again. We are all smart people on here assuming we have worked hard in life to even belong to a great forum like this. If it makes someone happy to fix something that makes them unhappy I fully support it :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
