Further proof that some folk start mashing out replies to threads having only read the title.

Can I ask if anyone HATED it when they first got it then learned to love it?

I had never seen it in the flesh, asked for the AD to get it for me (back in 2016 when you could!) they called me, I sat in the room under the bright lights then took out the coffin and put in front of me..my jaw hit the fing floor..I literally said "OH MY GOD THATS WAY TOO GREEN GET ME THE BLACK ONE"

Simply put - the bright BRIGHT AD lights only give you the super hulk you dont get to see the sexy dark green!!

Luckily, I saw sense and got it a month or so later as no way i'd be able to get it today

I would have to say that in hindsight you made out like a bandit with that beauty

I was not a fan at all until I tried it. I got it for 2k under msrp and felt like I got a mediocre deal. Those were the days

They are going for higher than ever on the grey market sites.

I got mine at near MSRP and holding on to it for the long term. Great summer and sun watch.

Indeed, ofc a 25-30% discount was the norm back then, so as much as the SS have been rising, some PMs like this have basically risen by 50% as no discount is being given now.

I don't entirely agree. The Cyclops does have a useful purpose that every wearer benefits from whilst the HEV is by and large totally unnecessary.

I wish someone would explain the joke to me?
Perhaps lost on UK humour?
I re-visited and am still none the wiser?

I'm not inclined to hate anything. It's an ugly and destructive state of mind.

When I first saw a Kermit in an AD window I wanted one. I thought it was beautiful. A couple of years later I went to my local AD with serious intent. It still looked beautiful but was so insubstantial. It didn't have much depth to it and the diving extension was frankly a joke.

The first time a saw a Hulk I mentally crossed it off. Too gaudy. Not classically subtle. Rolex goes Argos. Subsequent postings of photos and adverts didn't help. When I finally got to hold one, feel the weight, see it on, and see how the dial and bezel reacted to daylight, I was instantly sold.

So my answer is a kind of yes. Omitting the hate part, and accepting that I would not buy something I didn't like in the hope of coming to like it.

I must see it in the metal. My nephew has one and he keeps beaming about it. I really could not understand why as I prefer blue to green.
