my local AD is full of haughty sales people who didn’t believe a guy with a full tattoo sleeve, long hair, a nose ring, and who dresses casually could afford to buy any rolexes. they pushed me off more than once, with varying excuses.
now i make it a point to go in every time i acquire a new piece, just so they can see what they missed out on. maybe that’s petty, but i don’t care, they were dicks. that particular AD bought the previous one i had visited and had spoken with about a list or two. when i asked in the newly-kitted-out location about previous lists, and i quote: “all previous lists from the previous dealer have been cancelled and we are not taking any names for any watches as we can only guarantee our standing clients fulfillment.” ok cool. now i go in wearing the watches they didn’t even want to try to get me. i wish more than ANYTHING that they’d lose their status. they sell TAG and breitling like it’s going out of style. |

Remaining stock is owned by the AD and theirs to do with what they wish as far as discounts. Rolex will not buy back already sold AD inventory, even though the agreement states they can.

That's crazy... yet somehow Seth at Essential Watches in Beverly Hills has more Rolex watches than anyone I have ever seen. He even has hard to find models. You guys have to see this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FW1TqHaDfgE&t=433s |

Ah yes, I noticed the in store signage was gone and was reduced to a tiny coffee table like watch case. Same with the AD that was in Murfreesboro. I actually just found out today why both of them lost status.
Let's just say there's a new kid coming to town in the Green Hills area... |

That RG Daytona was killer, as was the everose CHNR. Very beautiful pieces! Quote:
sad, but that makes some sense these days! It’s just boring. Supply/demand, whatever the story is...I’ve been into watches for 13 years or so, and really got into it for about the last 6-7 years, but now I’m finding other things to entertain myself. Quote:
Didn’t watch the video, but I’ve been to places like that. Howard Frum in Chicago had piles of blue skydwellers, hulks, BLNRs, etc, last time I was there. Bummer they aren’t on the wrists of a bunch of guys who’d really appreciate them instead, but people who really want them can cough up huge premiums for them. I passed on such purchase opportunities...not that into any of them. |
