I don't care what is "en vogue" or whatever. And no one else's opinion compares to mine. I pay for the watch, I wear the watch. My Bluesy is my favorite watch and has been for years. When I want to wear stainless I do.

I only have SS, but after trying on my friend's newly acquired TT DJ36, I am thinking about a TT Daytona. Gold's heft and presence is hard to describe. I can't get a Daytona in steel, so I might as well check off multiple collection needs in one piece! First gold, chronograph, white dial.

Rolex invented the two-tone watch in a stroke of business genius. The two-tone allowed those wanting a “bit more” than steel but not having the dough to go full gold. And the marketing ruse became a fashion statement, and very popular.

For some years two-tone went out of style but it seems to be back. Buy and wear what you want. In terms of watch likes and preferences no one is right or wrong.

I'm sure this isn't entirely true.

Watch selection isn't a window into what someone can afford. I like the TT more than the full PM. That's why I bought it. Could have opted for the 18LB easily, myself.

Honestly I am not A TT fan myself. I don't mix metals. I don't wear my platinum wedding band when wearing a gold watch for the same reason. But to each their own.

Two tone is classic Rolex as is the SS Submariner and GMT Master II. Its all old's mans watches at the end of the day. Hey, this manufacturer doesn't change much over the decades.

Agreed. I wear my TT Datejust with everything. It can be dressed up or down.

One day I will be an old man. My TT watches are just waiting for me to catch up I guess. I'm getting there pretty fast so no worries.

I like two tone. Being 47 years old the TT DJ and Sub were the watches I grew up lusting over. These were the watches my parents and their contemporaries all wore. I never got the TT bias. But then again I may be in the minority.

Two Tone vs Stainless

I’ve always liked Two Tone. My first Rolex was the Polar Explorer II, 16570. My next Rolex was the TT Black Submariner Date 16613LN. That one has come and gone (pictured).

I don’t wear TT at the moment, but they are iconic and the LB is especially recognizable. To each his own. Cheers!

Two tone is classic, definitely “coming back” (if it were ever out). I feel like ss works a bit easier into daily wear for me, also wears scratches better than gold imo. All that being said, buy what YOU like. If you’ve already got some tt pieces, why not add something new into the rotation.

I love my TT GMT and I can go under the radar with the leather strap as required. My TT DJ41 on jubilee is pure Rolex flash and I love it too.

Never went out of style. Own both SS and two tone.

TT is great. I saw a guy in his 30s rocking a TT black sub yesterday at an outdoor waterfront DC bar. Nothing old mannish about it

Two Tone isn’t an old mans watch, that’s just some of the rubbish you read on forums, you can if you want not have the watch you actually want and let your kids or whoever choose for you which seems to be the route your most comfortable with. Alternatively you can make your own choice and choose what YOU want and go for the TT.

Totally enjoying my TT Daytona and TT GMT! Guess I’ll always have TTs in my collection. Rolex does a great job with their and it’s a bargain compared to the current SS craz!

I have both: a vintage SS 5513 and a Two Tone Bluesy. I wear them both. The 5513 is my beater watch. I wear it every day, to work, with Jeans etc. The Bluesy I reserve for special occasions when I have to get dressed up in a suit. I wear and love them both. The Bluesy gets the most notice and the most compliments.

Greatest wannabee act is buying a "hottie" at 2-2.5X MRSP from a grey person ..
I simply cannot congratulate anyone doing that .

I would suggest buy what you like. Not a TT person myself but the only exception would be the CHRN. That is a stunner!!!

I'm in no particular camp. IMO all watches should be judged on their individual merits.

Except for the CHNR, I'm personally not a fan of two tone, nor all gold on a bracelet for that matter, but I'm a firm believer in buying what one likes regardless of what others think.

What’s old is a receding hairline and subtle comb overs. Not tt.

Probably I was just scarred by all those tacky chrome and brass bath fixtures in the 80s, but TT doesn’t do anything for me. Pick a metal, pick a lane.

OTOH, delighted when something I don’t like becomes popular, it leaves more of the stuff I do like for me!
