It’s a real shame because I helped the guy in good faith as I have a long-standing relationship with AP. I’ve met some guys from this forum and made some friendships as they’re solid people but it just goes to show that just because we all have a shared passion not everyone here is going to turn out the way we thought or hoped.

Sorry to hear Ash. Makes me think twice about helping out the various people on here who have reached out to me and asked my help.

That’s really sad isn’t it?
There’re genuine people on the forums and some $h|theads who wants to mess things up.

That’s too bad to hear. While ultimately the goal of these efforts is to get allocated your desired watch doing it with integrity shouldn’t be mutually exclusive.

The guy most definitely has issues - making up a correspondence later/email from the CEO (filled with sentence construction errors), boasting about acquiring 6 desirable Rolex models in 3 months without any purchase history yet making up excuses for his inability to post photos of his collection, etc. Sad to say that he may show up with a different username.
Ash, I hope you are able to control any damages to your relationship with AP. You're a good TRF member. Did you verify with your AP contact whether he received and followed thru with the special treatment from AP (purchasing a watch of his choice and a visit to the manufacture)? Best.

That's why when something smells off about a newbie I can be pretty harsh which is not really in my nature, online anyway, I don't like p1ss takers and users who are here only to lie or take.

It’s definitely a lesson learned for me, I remember sending Roger PMs a long time ago, (maybe 8 years) regarding the platinum 44 that I now have. At the time he could have treated me as a time waster but didn’t.....and I wasn’t. I’ve tried to have the same attitude when people have asked me for help/advice and I can think of at least 5 people who pm’d me regarding the platinum 44 and then went on to buy the watch. It’s good to be able to help and even meet some of the great people here but as I’ve learnt on this occasion it can leave you feeling like it would have been better to never get involved.

I haven’t seen an email screenshot but it seems like a lot of work to go to to create a fake email just to satisfy some people on the internet that he doesn’t even know and will likely never meet. In the pm’s between me and the OP he came across as a decent guy that’s why I helped him, I have no idea why he’s fallen off the radar.

The “email” was debunked swiftly by others who noted several anomalies that would never roll off a CEO’s keyboard or device. Here is it is - it was a screenshot that the OP posted.

Despite the photoshopping some noted, my own opinion is AP’s CEO would never call a boutique a “store”. Nor slip so badly in grammar, syntax and usage.

But the OP in another thread had repeatedly used that term and syntax in his posts about the “Weird experience at AP Boutique”

This whole thing is pure gold. Take advantage of a fellow users generosity, brag about getting a hard to get AP, start another thread bragging about all the other watches your have gotten, likely fabricate an email from the AP CEO for North America and then disappear. What a long exercise to troll people on a watch forum.

I guess I just don’t get people’s interactions with social media and creating this false narrative.

I’m stunned, I’ve never given a second thought to helping a fellow TRF member and the 3,4 or 5 members that I’ve actually met have all been great guys who like me would help another member. It’s amazing that there are people who live in complete fantasy land.

What if OP and the CEO are one and the same person? Hence the same tone.

Surely you jest...

A CEO who slams his own brand’s Boutique?

You mean “stores”?

Why not? So they can be like true and tempered steel.

I figured that guy would find the exit door at some point.

Ash, don't let this douche change your ways, we have an incredible community here and it's what makes TRF such a unique place.

No, indeed don't let one fool infect the community spirit. Although, I say that as I'm about to PM Ash about his ROO.
