Nice, but 23.000 ... wow, that's a lot of money.

Do you plan on wearing it? If so, I would try to find one that's not NOS. This one is a safe queen.

I would buy one which was originally sold in the US with the paperwork stating 16610LV instead of only 16610.
With this one you will never know if all is original or if it is cobbled together.

Paperwork is everything on these pieces. If this is what you want to spend your money on, then price doesn't bother me if it's a genuine MKI sub LV. Flat 4 Oval O f serial, need LV on that paperwork number. That's all I know.

Total collector piece. The dial also looks correct but I'd get an experts opinion on its authenticity as being an original lv. Tough one to wear. Warranty papers too I hope..

“LV” does NOT have to be on paperwork at all

Thank you every one. Much appreciated
Well i am not really planning to wear it. Just want to buy it and put it in the safe for my kid. When he’s grown up, he can decide for himself what to do with it.

I have no idea about Rolexes, my realm is vinage breitling

Just trying to learn some about these watches.

Thanks again for your input

U.K. or European LVs don’t have LV on the paperwork
The USA LV’s have a V after the 16610 model designation

Your kid will be wearing an Apple Watch when he grows up (or have some neural implant).
Put the money towards a college fund instead

It doesn’t but if you don’t run it by RSC and at least get a service estimate to run the serial number in there database u cannot be 100% sure it was born an LV.

I just went through the same thing on a nos flat four set with Italian punched papers. The serial checked out after a service estimate thankfully.

This is an issue with early European punched papers that have no LV or V on then.

Fat four is the European designation.
