I have a WG Pepsi, Sub-C and a White Daytona 116500 and I have to say I regret most of all that I didn’t keep my BLNR I had. Not for financial reasons (all my watches came from AD’s) but because it’s such a great looking watch.

I bought and sold an oyster bracelet BLNR in the days before the market went silly. I regretted it once the values went daft but recently got a jubilee one new from my AD at RRP. It’s a keeper. Honestly? I prefer the jubilee bracelet. I don’t like polished centre links anyway and think the jubilee suits them better than the oyster. I also have oyster bracelets on my black GMT ceramic, old aluminium Pepsi GMT and ceramic Submariner. I also get new technology in the new blnr movement, 10y warranty and the new jubilee bracelet is very well made.

Now in the UK some ADs (Goldsmiths/WoS group) are matching the 5y Rolex warranty with another 5 years free - apparently an American idea from some ADs there. I think the new watch makes a great daily wearer and you could maybe keep the older one as a collector piece as some people say it’s got real future potential.

Only qualified people to make objective comment about functionality/comfort of jubilee vs oyster are people who owned both old and new BLNR. Otherwise look is matter of personal taste

I agree but then I have owned both. I’d urge people to see them in the flesh and try both before making a judgement.

Agreed, and close call but the jubilee edges it for me

To me - and I am older and may be biased - the jubilee looks best on Datejusts and just does not look right on Subs and so forth.

Sell the new one, keep the old one, and then you'll have $5-6k to put toward something else. I like the oyster way more than the jubilee on the GMT and I think you'll regret getting rid of it, especially since you can't get a new one on oyster once you sell this one.

Prefer the jubilee, more comfortable and less scratch magnet.

Thanks for all of the feedback. I’m keeping the oyster. And I’m not able to buy the jubilee and sell to another TRF because I am ultimately responsible if someone flips the watch and burns my relationship. And I asked if I can recommend a member here and got denied as well. Lastly - I would never resell the new one and burn the relationship. whether it’s 2 , 4 or 6 k profit it’s not worth it to me to jeopardize their business for short term profit on the jubilee. After a long weekend in Vegas, (that’s the reason for the silence) so I’d really prefer the 6 k profit - but don’t play if you can’t afford the pain of losing.

The crazy thing is many dealers who aren’t big chains worry about people flipping. If Rolex finds out, it gets them in big trouble (I e been told of a 3 strike rule - unsure if it’s true but that’s what they told me ) and Rolex is the majority of many of these small shops’ earnings. Talk about bad karma.

Thanks for everyone’s thoughts again

I love how people call the oyster BLNR “OG” it was released 2013! It’s 6 years old....this not even close to be called OG.

It’s interesting that here in Hong Kong (here for 2 days), the new BLNR Jubilee had a price of $HK178,000 ($US22,700) the week it hit the greys. I mentioned in a previous post that the early feedback wasn’t as positive as they’d anticipated. So the price dropped pretty dramatically. If we just look at HK market prices as a loose measure of demand, the Jubilee sells at around $US1000 lower than the Oyster.

The new movement is great but the Oyster has its appeal.

A light profesional polish on the old BLNR will make it brand new (shiny), again with no adverse effects to the metal, and will still be able to be sold at market value in the future.

I’d sell or, better still just buy an oyster bracelet for approx 1500$ and you’d have both.

To be honest I always like original!
First version of anything has its special value!
The difference in the movement doesn’t interest me and I like BLNR on oyster better

Sell old BLNR, buy new BLNR and pocket 3-4K towards the next purchase.
Prior to everyone saying to just add the watch to my collection, I have a Pepsi (picked up this year) so I don’t “need” the jubilee but I like new, shiny things. And there’s way too much redundancy to have oyster and jubilee BLNR and a Pepsi. At least that’s how I rationalize this obsession. I had a similar thought on selling my SD 4000 earlier this year (that I reached out to the forum for advice) for a sub but realized I love the SD too much. And it’s much more unique.

Am I being ridiculous and just pass on the watch or is pocketing some money and still scratching the itch a sound idea?
Thanks in advance. Be gentle with your responses.

Doit... You will have no regrets... The new blnr jubilee its more sexy, more comfortable and looks so cool.... Don't hear those hate old blnr owners
