The always on option is a big plus! I have a 4 and I mainly use it for working out, in part because it is not easy to glance down and check the time (especially in meetings).

I am seriously debating adding one. I’m worried it will take up too much wrist time. With the current market I’d consider dropping my TT sub and adding the series 5. Would still have the GMTc LN

Haha it is considerably lighter, and less expensive. Also happens to have day date functionality and ekg / ecg lol.

And before anyone asks, I am an Apple addict, we have 4 iPads, 2 iPods, 2 iPhones and 1 MacBook Pro, I just don't get this having a phone on my wrist.

I am going to wear my 4 on my right wrist for awhile and see how having two on simultaneously feels...going to pick up the 5 regardless, though...looks great!

I really don’t think that’s a beater nor durable. It’s a lap top for your wrist. Have no interest in them. My iPhone does the trick and remains discreetly in my pocket unless I need it. Can’t ever imagine that replacing any Rolex for me for even a nanosecond

I had one on constantly before. I enjoyed the 'disconnect' when I stopped wearing it. If i didn't want to take a call, it wasn't ringing both my pocket and my wrist. Its a really elegant piece of tech, that has a way of merging into your life in ways you never knew you needed/wanted.

I still think they look really good. The new titanium case version sounds interesting too. Congrats on your new watch!

I had one years ago and stopped weraring it. I got sucked into one last year because of the EKG function but it turns out my heart has no problems damn it. Now it sits unloved while I wear my Seamaster and now, my Milgauss.

I think they are true, TRUE tool watches. I only use them when I need that tool. I don't enjoy them because they are just another distraction from the real world. I have enough of those.

Ha I never did either. Always had a max iPhone, so iPads are useless and always thought Apple Watch to be as well. Let’s see how this experiment goes! If I start posting it in the WRUW posts, then I know it’s time for me to be excommunicated!

Plenty of choices, watch, iPhone, iPad or PC. I don't use my iPad because I always use a real PC as I want/need the real estate it gives me with two 32 inch monitors. That is where I can do real work. When mobile I use my iPhone 5.8 X but my iPhone 11 Pro has been ordered. It can do a lot of things but most require more effort and gives less success than the real PC. I would never compromise my needs by going to a watch. Too small and too little capability and that has nothing to do with whether I want to wear one of the better watches or not.

There are always strong opinions on either side and many an enthusiast won’t entertain the thought of wearing an Apple Watch just on principal. That said there is no getting away from the fact they are impressive and their ability to track your health is for many a useful tool. That said I had a series 1 many moons back and it just wasn’t for me, I would much rather Apple developed a smaller fit bit like watch which gives 75% of the toys the AW offers but is discreet enough to wear on the right wrist whilst wearing a watch on the left. All being said and done however I don’t think the AW is the future and is merely a chapter in the bigger book.

It's more durable than a rolex. I'd sooner run a marathon with the apple watch on than a rolex. I actually had one for a couple days, but it didn't do as much as a garmin.

Your final point, though, "Can’t ever imagine that replacing any Rolex for me for even a nanosecond." I couldn't agree with that more. For me, it was for two different things - active and everything else. The apple and garmin are more durable and better for activities. Everything else - rolex checks all the boxes and more.
