I agree but this one has lots of personal attacks and warnings are lost in those attacks. If a new user comes over, they won’t find anything useful here other than couple of people fighting. Just my $0.02

Personal attacks ...on a forum...that sounds like nonsense

I am new here and all I can ad is that I did purchase a new Rolex Daytona (116500 LN BK Ceramic Bezel) from Bob's in Dec. 2017 for $17,995. I liked the certainty that it was real and I couldn't find one anywhere else. At the time the price was far more than I wanted to pay (for a $12,500 retail watch), but I really loved the watch since its introduction at Basel. I was very impressed with the customer service and the fact I literally received the watch the next day (after a wire transfer). I would buy from them again and monitor their web page on a consistent basis.

That said, I have never sold a watch and I have certainly never tried to sell one through Bob's. Candidly, no one likes to be "low balled" and I am certain that I too would have been pissed by an already low offer being nit-picked and reduced further, but I guess I would have just demanded the return of my watch and been done with it. Just my 2 cents. Have a great weekend to all.

I’ve done a transaction with JV Jessie and he was more than professional in selling me my authentic 1601. I had an slight issue with it a year later and he had his watch maker fix it free of charge. He’s straight up!

I've bought a Daytona from them as well and that watch is amazing. It looked brand new, no scratches watsoever, and not over polished either. No one believed it was pre-owned.

Hope you enjoy your watch.

In June of 2017 I purchased a vintage OysterQuartz from Bob's Watches. Shortly after it arrived I began to notice some significant deviations in timekeeping accuracy. The three day window of inspection had passed but I called the store and their watchmaker, Larry, told me to send it back and that he would check it out. I paid the shipping and insurance on the return. After about 2 weeks of me bugging them with phone calls, they issued me a full refund on the watch. I then purchased from them a 2016 Explorer I and am extremely happy with the watch. I paid $5300 for the watch which came with the warranty card, hangtags and box. I would have paid much more for this watch had I bought from my local dealer, not to mention 10% tax. So, I am a happy camper. Selling to them, however, would likely be a very different experience. So, if I ever decide to sell or trade up it will not be with Bob's. Just my 2 cents. -Robert

I recently sold a Yachtmaster that i'd not worn enough over the year and a half i'd owned it, I decided It was taking up space. I sent the request to multiple online sources including where I purchased it and my local AD.

Not only was Bob's the first, it was the only vendor who contacted me within 2 hours via email and phone call. While on the phone with Anjie from Bob's I emailed her some photos at the moment and she gave me a bid on the spot. She was extremely clear that the bid could change and gave me a very exact list of circumstances that could change their bid. I agree'd and she emailed me the prepaid/insured shipping labels. Once they reviewed the watch in person she called and offered me a little extra. Wire was sent the next day.

I honestly could not have been more impressed with their process and professionalism. I wouldn't hesitate to use their services in the future. It was much faster than bartering around or trying to sell it on my own. The best part, I only lost a couple hundred dollars test driving it for 18 months.

a little extra? They told me a brand new factory bracelet direct from my local AD added "NO VALUE" None, but after buying the watch I bet you they wouldn't have removed it and returned it. Seeing as how it was worthless they should have offered it.

I work in the industry and have had the pleasure of meeting Bob himself on multiple occasions. Very charming and robust guy. I have never purchased anything from the site/store but the man himself is definitely a watch guy and a great one to talk to at that!

I didnt read all 3 pages of this but they are asking you to pay for their "light polish" ?? that's absurd !! that's his job to do ... maybe the next buyer will not want a polish anyway.
I can see they are offering a bit less if you are missing a link and you didn't share with them, otherwise it seems like a very low offer ... try to sell it on TRF

I just purchased a 16613 Bluesy from Bob's.

Yes I paid a bit more, but I got:
A warranty, a freshly serviced watch, a COA as to being 100% Rolex parts, the original boxes and papers, ALL links, and... the satisfaction of not worrying about dealing with potential auction site rip-off's, etc.

They pulled the item in which I was interested to answer questions about the level of polishing, and the condition of the chamfers. Their email response was quick, courteous and greatly appreciated.

I avoided purchase from TWO TRF members selling the 16613 as they both did not answer two simple questions. Well --- their loss because of their laziness. Which also indicated to me that they had a "don't give a _____" attitude.

I mean, how difficult is it to send a one minute email !!!

I have never SOLD any watch, and so far, have no intention of so doing.

Bob's was a good choice for my particular needs, IMHO.

I don't see what Bob's is doing wrong. At list you don't have to kiss Bob's rear end in order to spend your money. Some people are willing to do so with their local AD.

Exactly. And his "business practice" is in line with what many other business do.

Such as used car dealers, home buyers/sellers, etc.

"They buy low and sell high". It's the 'Way of Capitalism'.

Anyone who has an issue with that always has other alternatives.

Bob's is a good B&M to buy from. Their sale prices are on par with GovBerg and other similar sellers (typically a couple percent higher than a trusted seller working out of his basement). The watches will be real Rolex.

Bob's is a lousy place to sell to. They always quote the maximum over the phone, then slash their offer when the see the watch. If it's not BNIB, you are going to get an insulting low ball quote. The price listed on their website is for the perfect example, not your watch. Their lack of honesty about hidden charges over the phone is the unsettling part of their business.

Their margin is common in the jewelry business. No one should be upset about how much they make. Their seedy pawnshop purchasing tactics are something to avoid.

True - but that’s his prerogative.
Still is the owner of Bob’s, right?
Or did he sell it off?

I think he distances himself from the name on this thread while selling here.
