I don't like the cyclops, I think it ruins the symmetry.

The nicknames are silly.

6 digit subs are too boxy.

If you own an EXP II or a YM, chances are exponentially higher that you also drive a Prius.

Yeah I don't get the bracelet thing.

Here I have one:

I don't understand people who pass on Subs because "they're too popular" to me that just means you care too much what others think

The first time (and second time, and third time) I tried on a 16610 pre-ceramic sub, I couldn't believe how cheap and unsubstantial it was. Folded bracelets? Invictas and Tags had solid bracelets (as did every other brand). Bracelet stretch wasn't a known phenomenon to any another brand. I thought the painted metal bezel inserts looked cheap. The Lume was weak. No exhibition case back? No on-the-fly bracelet adjustment? And the clasp....

Not a frequent poster, but I'll play.

1. The combination of brown and blue is an abomination and crime against nature. I hate the fact that I still want a Platona.

2. I love white precious metals and agree that gold and two-tone models are for "the elderly" (of which, by some definitions, I qualify). But the thing that I hate about white precious metals is that they cost a year's tuition at certain colleges/universities (I have 5 kids to educate).

3. I hate the fact that TRF has a group of sycophants that fawn over every comment, photo, or brain fart that certain members post, regardless of the merits or substance of same.

4. I love the Tudor Big Block and hate the fact that Rolex never went in a similar direction with the Daytona. And I hate the fact that others feel the same way, as evidenced by the increasing "collectibility" (and price) of that watch.

5. Other than the Big Block, no other Tudor captures my imagination, least of all the bronze one (hat ever it is called).

That's it, for now.

The majority of people who mock PM Rolex watches can't afford them.

Like my AD said.........I'm a member of the club now. And yes, I also own a tin watch.

Rolex ruined the brand with ceramic, inflated cases and non hole lugs

Vintage rolexs are an absolute rip off, insanly over priced.

People buy subs that no nothing about watches.

Rolexs are over priced

.... I feel better, like therapy

I'm 6' 280lbs and I think the black dial 116200 36mm Datejust is the best all purpose sports watch (smooth bezel, oyster bracelet, lumed stick dial....it's a sports watch, not a dress watch) It's not too small even for my chunky forearms, it's classic and supremely comfortable. I don't actually own one, but I do have a 16200 and would like to move to the newer model soon. I enjoy wearing this size.

I think PM subs are silly and counter to the ethos of the Sub. Makes slightly more sense on the GMT but still don't like them.

Only PM Rolex worth having is a 36mm DD...I want one but doubt I'll ever get one.

But I do think the TT Datejust is poised for a comeback...it will no longer be just an old mans watch. It's got vintage cool.

- that rolex has over 350 catalog variations of the Pearlmaster yet, doesn't even offer a jubilee OR oyster PCL or brushed option for all their mens sport watches

Datejust's with a smooth bezel look awful no matter what color the dial

The Bluesy is one gorgeous piece, whether you dive or not. Some folks (many?) buy watches for the jewelry factor and as always, to each his/her own.

The hulk is one ugly ass watch. Maybe my opinion on Bluesy/Hulk is related to Blue is my favorite color and green not so much...

Many folks on this thread despise Daytonas. I bought my first Rolex in 1982 (36mm Datejust), and my recently purchased Daytona is my fave. And horrors on horrors, it is YG, with a black face. To me it is stunning, but I understand how others might think it looks like sh**.

I don't understand the Milguass. I understand why it is produced, but I don't work in an electric plant and I think the lightning bolt second hand is fugly.

I used to think the AirKing was one plain and ugly looking watch. But Rolex changed my mind with the new one. It is an exception to my opinion of non fluted bezels.

I think the BLNR is a sharp piece. I used to think the Platona was stupid but is has grown on me and now I like the blue dial/ brown bezel. Perhaps tomorrow I won't like it any longer.

Generally speaking I like the new ceramic bezel. But on the Daytona I would much rather have a smooth metal bezel. I think the SS Daytona with polished SS bezel is one sharp watch. I would consider a collector Daytona if I had the cash and didn't want to spend money on other things.

I like both Jubilee and Oyster bracelets. It just depends on the watch. A Jubilee on a Sub is nasty, but with the right dial on a Datejust looks super sharp and makes a nice dress watch

Rolexes are nice watches but don't live up to the hype. I particularly dislike Rolex's repair policies such as they won't work on a watch that has a genuine newer dial on an older watch

I don't like Rolex's strategy of limiting production of certain watches to keep the price up.

I will never pay more than list price for any Rolex. Will have to think about paying list.

I have 5 Rolexes in my collection. I would like to have a few more, time will tell. None of the ones that I have would I ever sell.

My wife never gives me sh** when I buy a new Rolex. She has 2, perhaps that helps my cause :)

Despise Rolex's nickel and dime policy on watches sent in for service. I never had one when they didn't say it needed a new crown. I bet you could never pull the stem and they would say it needed a new crown. They need to include a crown in the price of a service.

Won't buy from an AD that acts like they are doing you a favor by selling you one.

The best deals anywhere are found right here on TRF. People on this site are almost always above reproach.

You know what bugs me?

/sarcasm filter on/

When somebody posts a picture and they've squeeze that watch onto their wrist and it is abundantly clear the band is way too tight.

Now, of course, I'm a guy that likes my watches really loose. Think two fingers between the bracelet and my skin. So I'm probably the last guy to be judging anybody about how they wear their watch.

Now don't get all uptight if you're one of those guys that likes those skin-tight bands.

Agreed. Then again, I do like skinny jeans.
Especially trendy ones, like True Religion or something that screams 'money.'
