I haven't changed my mind on getting vaccines, nothing in the debate has convinced me otherwise, my belief is that the benefits of getting a vaccine far outweighs the risk of not.

However, after reading the points made by many of the medical members of the group, I have completely changed my mind on giving medical treatment to those who have had the vaccine first over those that choose to remain unvaccinated. I was in favour of this, but, having read, further and in depth reasons in the thread and seen some compelling reasons/arguments, I have done a complete 180. The medical community have a hard enough job as it is, I couldn't do it and to make it that much more difficult by making ethical decisions even tougher, imo, is just wrong.

Where I struggle is, surely I should have some feelings, but I don't. I feel for his family and for those who have followed his lead and died or got seriously ill, but I have none for him. Dave, you are not the only one here. I feel the same way. No sympathy for this man.

No, your not. In fact I'll go a bit farther. When a leader leads people to do the wrong thing, well maybe now more of his followers will end up being better for it.

For me the debate was never whether people not taking something that could prevent or mitigate effects would be reason enough to refuse care. I was always concerned that their choices could cause the system to become overwhelmed thereby causing others who did to not be able to get care because the system became to overwhelmed.

I'm just glad to see that this has not become an issue that no one has to deal with that I am aware of.

Was it necessary for the article to mention "the christian who was against vaccines" in the title? This is just provocative and material of propaganda for people to go get vaccinated. This is also plain wrong. Just mention the guy's name and that he died of covid. No one cares whether he was against covid or christian.

Fair game considering his profession. Christian Broadcaster. I'm assuming he professed this philosophy or beliefs to his followers as well.

WELL WELL WELL…. Here we have it. Unless some of you believe Twan is lying, here is straight from the horses mouth (so to speak) PROOF that the vaccine assists in defeating this virus (maybe defeat is the wrong word but you get what I’m saying). NO FULLY VACCINATED ADMITTED. If it’s a government conspiracy (as some honestly claim) it seems to be a very beneficial one. Will the Vac PREVENT you from getting Covid? No. Are there risks associated with the Vac? I am sure there are. Does getting the Vac HELP reduce the number of seriously sick patients and reduce the chance of you passing it on to others (even if you are asymptomatic) AND REDUCE the number of resources like ICU beds and others that could be dedicated towards those needing them? The answer is YES. Now please continue explaining how the Vac is bad for the human race again ?

Thank you Twan,

It's funny but I thought everyone had heard the stats when it came to the overwhelming evidence of those being hospitalized or dying from Covid when it came to vaccinated vs unvaccinated. Frankly I thought that alone would be enough, but I have since learned otherwise.

Anyway I was at least able to convince someone to get the vaccine not long ago by presenting the numbers to them. I just happened to ask her what her reason for not getting the vaccine. Her main reasons were the symptoms she experienced afterwards from the Flu Shot which I've heard more than once from other people. I then explained what my main concern was that it was my understanding that as of that time 99.98% people who had died from Covid were unvaccinated where only .02% were vaccinated, I asked a few days later and she said she had scheduled an appointment to get the vaccine.

Got my booster today

42nd consecutive flu shot a couple of months ago and 3rd Pfizer at about same time. I’m glad this thread has managed to stay respectful for 3 days

I know these are different matters - flu vs. Cov-2 - but I believe that in the future, we will be seeing annual CoV-2 shots like we have seen flu shots since late ‘70’s.

Another nexus: complacency increases with repetitive behaviors - barely 50% of people got the flu shot over the past decade and it crept up to 52% for the most recent flu season.

So I believe as new post-Cov-2 infection therapies come forward, we will see Cov-2 Vax rates settle into the same complacency.

Thank you Twan,
I'm fully vaccinated, and have had covid. But this really is the question, unvaccinated have a concern, the vax is new and long term effects are uncertain and no one can say for certain what effects are down the line. Hopefully there are none, but absolutely no one can be certain.

I can’t argue with that, no one can be certain that five years from now those that are vaccinated will not experience some kind of health issue resultant from the vaccine. What I CAN say for certain is those that are not vaccinated RIGHT NOW are dying at a rate of over 99% HIGHER then those that are vaccinated, and taking up hospital beds and medical care.

Wow that’s a great call out! 99%! That’s insane.

Check this article out :

https://www.medpagetoday.com/special...clusives/95119

“The latest data from August 29-September 4 show that less than one vaccinated person per 100,000 had died the previous week compared with more than nine unvaccinated people per 100,000. Overall, in August, according to the tool, unvaccinated people were 6.1 times more likely than fully vaccinated people to test positive for COVID-19 and 11.3 times more likely to die from it.”

Both vaccinated and unvaccinated were dying at a rate less than 1%. Although, the unvaccinated were 11.3 times more likely to die!

Maybe if the sample size was bigger?

Not to mention what would the economy be like if there wasn't a vaccine. How many more people do you think would be dying and getting sick and what kind of problems that would cause.

Great question.

According to webmd we have already surpassed the covid deaths in 2021 with a vaccine compared to 2020

https://www.webmd.com/lung/news/2021...ass-2020-total

Before the gestapo get me I am vaccinated. Just found this stat interesting

If it is who he was why is it a problem to state it? "Provocative and material of propaganda" only works on people lacking critical thought capabilities.

People can choose whatever statistics they want to believe or dispute. These are the statistics I choose to believe. To ignore or dismiss them would be folly. Oh and I also trust and believe in my doctor's advice. Call me crazy but I follow it.

My booster for Moderna is scheduled for Monday. My last shot was April.

I don't really go for Covid reasons but merely because the nurse is cute as hell.

YMMV

As a retired NHS consultant physician, I hesitate to post in this thread. I would advise people to follow mainstream medical advice and get the vaccine unless there is a compelling reason not to.

Some people seem to think there is a global conspiracy led by shadowy figures who are never identified (apart from Bill Gates for some reason). "Big Pharma" is mentioned a lot, along with "sheeple" and calls to "wake up". The agenda seems to be global depopulation or somesuch. There is an overlap with Q Anon, and the anti-mask people.

Do I really need to point out the ludicrousness of those ideas?

Yes I think one of the earliest theories was that Bill Gates was using the vaccine to plant robots into our bloodstreams so that he could track us when we go to the toilet.

Unfortunately even if you did point out how ludicrous those ideas are and have become, it seems a lot of people are still going to believe it....
It is truly crazy how gullible people have become, I think the best example lately is people waiting in Texas for JFK JR to come out of the building showing he is still alive.

You and the other guy posted about the 2021 more deaths than 2020 and I’m not sure if it’s to mislead others that don’t dig further but if you look at the context, it would be an argument for vaccine.

For the US the vaccines weren’t widely available to adults until late March. I can’t speak for other states but for me (late 20s in nyc), first shot was available early April unless I had a preexisting condition or if job required more contact with people. From a quick look at deaths by month almost half of total 2021 deaths were in those first few months.

I agree, but I completely understand the reaction and suspicion of many. The narrative has been “follow the science” yet the message has been inconsistent and politics clearly playing into all aspects of this.

Throw in news reports of vaccine makers profiting $1000 per second (!) while politicians are pushing mandates while building their personal wealth insider trading pharma stocks, and I’m shocked there’s not a lot more pushback.

Wrap your head around $1000 a second profit off a vaccine that the govt paid the R&D for. You probably can’t print money any faster.

Taken a step further, the government has no money that hasn’t been given to it by its citizens. So, even as people are purportedly dying wholesale, they still get the pleasure of paying twice.

Thanks Thug! Wasn’t posting to misled but looking for thoughts and insights
