Didn't mean to turn this into a GS thread, but I just bristle when people say GS aren't in the same league as Rolex, when GS overall is an objectively a higher finished watch brand that competes with watches nicer than Rolex. The SGBE285 GMT and SLGA015G diver are spectacular.
I remember seeing a GS that had a dial I really liked but I didn’t write down the model number.

I have never been able to find it again.

I’m pretty good at model numbers, if you wanna describe it to me via PM.

Ultimately, for Rolex, it just doesn't matter that much.
Rolex doesn't give out embargoed pre-Watches & Wonders press kits. But they will when the releases are off schedule, like the Deepsea Challenge last Nov 1 and the Sub 41 on Sept. 1, 2020.

You can ask any watch media: they don't have any embargoed info about Rolex right now.

I thought one of the publications made reference to them, but I could be mistaken.

Just standard procedure. The pages were not active. Now they are but only for internal testing and restricted from non network/VPN IPs.

Tomorrow at 8:30 these will go live.

I just like seeing everyone lose their minds on new release day. My favorite time of the year. Can’t wait.

If it is a new GMT, if makes sense they bring back the black and yellow gold GMT, which is in the teaser.

Defying Excellence???

Wouldn’t

Embracing Excellence

Be more apt?

Or, maybe…

Defying Inferiority

Be a Superior Value Proposition?

Indeed. Over in the 32xx sucks thread this was visited. Likely a bad translation from French

I think that what they are trying to say is that they are challenging what excellent is, and raising it to a new level.

To translate it correctly, this means that excellence is their defy/goal.

Perfection > Excellence...? To defy excellence would be to either fall short of it or exceed it and Rolex probably wouldn't market around the former. If their goal is perfection...

Saw this on Twitter. Instead of starting a new thread and breaking some rule (and potentially high jacking this one? Sorry PartyRoss! Though I thought what you found was sound!).

That being said, while all nice and pretty much matches the speculation from the teaser and this thread’s link, somewhat typical Rolex though the dial of the Oyster Perpetual seems like a step in a different direction from Rolex generally these past few years.
