Recently received this other Czapek.
It was shipped before the aforementioned company-wide vacation, but spent some time in customs due to the gator strap.

Quai de Bergues Midnight in Geneva S

Aventurine Dial. 38.5mm.

Darned near impossible to get a good photo of this dial.

So, my build date (Ant/GB/II) was yesterday… sure would have been a nice (and costless) thing for Czapek to email someone on their build date with a time frame update. I know overall customer service experience seems like it’s been high based on this forum, but this seems like such a lazy omission of something common sense for people who have been waiting 18 months.

Grats on your build date! So maybe only a few more weeks until you have it in hand? I’m still two years out!

But your suggestion definitely would be a nice and cost less gesture! @mike Margolis

Can someone phonetically write how to properly pronounce Czapek?

Not a joke post, I just have no idea and would like to not make a fool of myself talking about this brand sometime.

Haha. Czapek was a Polish guy. A Polish guy here as well. „Cha-peck” is a perfect take at it.

BTW - czapka means „a cap” (the one on your head). So Czapek would mean a person who for example wears a cap a lot.

Was looking at the quick release mechanism and it seems to bump against the case. Do current owners find this to be an issue? Assume that it will cause some form of dent / scratch on the case whenever they touch (when the bracelet articulates)?

gm58,

i've changed straps at least 40 times over the past year or so... it's a non-issue. No dings or dents there, yet considering how much i've worn it she does have some scratches on the top bezel/lugs, etc., but that's just normal daily wear stuff all my timepieces have as the years pass.

Speaking of... As a daily wear, including ocean / pool swims, bicycle riding, etc, she's been solid and reliable.

You really should consider talking to someone about your strap fetish.

My Muse probably feels it's hopeless. HOPELESS! Would take pics of the many 'books' filled with straps, but am trying, probably in futility, to seem, ummm, 'normal'.

On the PLUS side, wife chose a custom strap top material two days ago for her Montblanc WorldTime and i was easily able to provide the craftsmen all the measurements / specs so it'll both look and fit perfectly for her.

Ahh thanks for the reply, the quick release part seems to knock against the case at certain angles (especially when screwing in the quick release) but not a deal breaker (im talking about the antarctique just in case if it was not clear). I just have noticed a small dent/scratch where the quick release mechanism on the strap touches the case

Yes, the Antarctique and imho it's a non-issue. Guess if you're super ultra-concerned, some Helicopter tape (a.k.a Leading Edge tape) would possibly more than suffice. Visit an aerospace / aircraft parts supplier in HK, they might just give you a few small bits for free :)

Interesting! Thanks :) Just wanted to understand and perhaps the company can look into it for future iterations! Not a huge deal but just something to be aware about - definitely less damaging than normal strap changes with scratches dents and all

Always happy to help, but, ummm, i don't see any 'problem' to begin with. Though yes, if you feel so concerned am glad to provide a 'solution' that brings you happiness.

I think this is a good constructive point. It is not a problem, but something that in the future iterations may be fine tuned: to limit the wear and tear and for a matter of design elegance, where preventable it would be better to avoid such contact/friction of the strap quick change disk with the watch case, even if this happens in hidden areas

Great to know...

Thanks for the help (all)! Now I can pretentiously roll my eyes and correct when I hear someone butcher the name.

Seriously though, I really appreciate Czapek. When I'm in Toppers, I torn between what I love more, Czapek or Parmigian F.

It is really nice, easily the best watch they have made. Might be interesting depending on the discount you can get from the AD - if you can get one...

Probably competing closely with the Armin Strom Resonance Mirrored Force, which is quite a bit less though and customizable. The finishing on Strom also seems to be better? Would need more macros of the Czapek.

Amazing watch. A bit out of my price range. But, considering that a a Erhard Lederer watch is DOUBLE the price, it may be a relative deal for this limited collaboration

The rose gold and "harmony" blue is a good looking watch, however, why don't they show the back? In none of the photos they've sent via email or online do they show the back of the watch.

I understand that most of the fun is in the front, but it would be nice to see the watch in the round.

If you are referring to the Complicité, in the video the back is shown clearly and in abundant frames. And, personally, I like it very much.

My comment would be, with a double independent escapement system + differential (specifics that determine such important price of the watch), why there is no reference to the chronometrical performance?
