Overall, everyone has the right to do whatever they wish with their cash and reputation.

More than a few members have highlighted that you essentially went back on a completed deal. And a lot of them are right, the AD didn't rope you into the deal. Regardless of the financial details, you had enough time and capacity to make an accurate decision (or I guess apparently not) prior to completing the deal. To make the extra step in calling Rolex USA themselves to essentially dance around and complain is a bit uncalled for. If I was AD reading this, I would certainly question customers like this. It is your own misjudgement and frankly a head scratcher as you are trading in a used item for a new item. That principal alone applies to anything else in life, when you trade something into a store you won't get top dollar and it will always appear the AD sold something above MSRP. What your perceived value of your item is and what is offered to you is two different things.

What it comes down to is this: you had buyer's remorse. Just admit a mistake is made. I think a lot of individuals are just challenging you on the actions after the fact of trying to create points to justify your return and further blaming it on your wife, then the AD, and after that principal of paying above MSRP.

Yep

Agree 100%. Just buy what you want and don’t tell the wife. It’s easier to ask forgiveness than permission.

Agreed. The Rolex USA move can only be interpreted as suspect, especially since the AD was very much willing and did in fact allow the refund for OP without fuss. If I were the AD I would view this as an attempt to coerce an additional settlement in order to gain from the transaction.

First of all, I think the dealer is super happy now, because they are legally to sell the watch above retail now as the watch is used.( has your name on the card)

I am sure no one want to pay over retail, but if you want hottest watch at hottest time, yeah you have to pay premium. Average price of BLRO is above 17k, you pay below it. However, if you want to pay as retail for hottest watch, man maybe you have to pay for over 100k for some stuffs that you dont even want to get.

Me, I have never want to pay over retail, I am ok to be on the waitlist, but I know waitlist is just bs, your name is never called. At this time, I dont know what is the best way to get SS Rolex. I dont know how long the game is last, but we have to follow their game .

Wow, amazing how many people support you in going back on a deal you made. Not much honour here. Pathetic really. As stated by an earlier post, Gentlemen don’t behave like that.

You should have thought about what you wanted before agreeing to the deal. The AD has probably not lost out so no real harm but he did nothing wrong other than negotiate a shrewd deal for himself that also benefited you. You got a hot model that is hard to get, he sold at retail but gave you a poor trade in price on the TT.

What I hope you have done is tell him you were having regrets and ask him for advise on a solution rather than take any advice from people here who are trying to encourage you to be all self righteous and threaten the AD which would be a betrayal of your negotiation.

Always trust wife's hunch;-)
Return it as fast as you can and correct the mistake you just did. Many do not have have the privilege of returning goods, so you're lucky if you can do it.
Order yours fro an AD and wait, I bet you won't be waiting that long. Thing are changing, positively.

The dealer put my name on the warranty card but he did not give me a receipt of sale but rather said he would email me an appraisal. Wife wants me to return it. My inclination is to return the watch today , thoughts? Do you think I should just keep the watch or return it ?
