Well, got to firm up the deal Thrusday. Depending on the form of payment he wants, I may need a couple of days to get the cash.

I am not losing sleep over this. I am no rush. I spoke with him today, and he sounds fine with waiting until Thursday. Sometimes time works for you.

If this deal happens, it will be the largest, single pure luxury purchase of my life. Part of my reluctance to pull the trigger right away.

Good to see you take time to rationalize everything and ask questions.

Like I said, this is a big purchase and you have to think it out.

Unfortunately, there are others lashing out at your process......Good luck if it falls through and pictures!!!

Dude, go for it on Thursday. I do not regret for a second my DSSD or Daytona purchase. Doubt I would regret a Milgauss GV either. And I paid retail for the DSSD and retail + taxes for the Daytona! Looking back, if I could have bought all 3 at once for that deal, I would have been all over it. Just think of the watch euphoria you'll be in once you pull the trigger. This spring/summer would be off the chain with that quartet! Go on... you know you want em!

Thank you so much. As I said before, whatever happens, life will go on. This is not the biggest decision in the world for me. I just have to hide the rolling pins from my wife, if I do pull the trigger. But, hey, life is short (I guess even shorter if I get conked on the head with a rolling pin). I have no guilt about the indulgence of buying three Rolexes; just something else for my estate to distribute soemday!

Well, it was an offer by the AD. I would think he would have a little room to wiggle.

$20,000 in cash, after tax, seems like a great deal. I would push for that.

Let us know!

Very kind sentiment. Thank you. Like you, I have been a collector all my life (I don't mean I collect dust). Let's see, I have stamps (full panes of US stamps), mineral and fossil specimens, viewmasters, wade whimsies (for my daughter); coins, fine bound books; pins; old marbles, it goes on and on -I"m a sicko. The only think different about Rolexes is that there are no cheap additions to this collection!

With all the cht about bigger and bigger discounts, I'm almost afraid to strike a deal, not knowing how low prices will go. I know, I know, you can't time the bottom or top of a market, but on a $20K purchase, every 5% is $1,000.00. I work very hard for $1,000.00.

Ain't that the truth! It doesn't get any easier to earn. Trouble is, with our sick economies, we all have to be careful that we don't wait too long on any purchase. The longer we leave it, the more chance that business will go bust, rampant deflation begins and then we're all screwed!
Regardless of what others may have thought, I've really enjoyed your thread. I reckon I'd be nervous about dropping 20 grand on some watches too. You'll just have find some way to hide them from the wife, or buy her one too. You never know, he might chuck in an air king with the deal
Good luck my friend

Hi Brian,

Not at all.

Some people feel they have to comment on every thread even if they don't like it or approve.

Now, good luck today at the AD. Hope you get your 20k number but I would bite even if slightly higher. Its still a good deal. Make sure you have an address to ship out of state if needed to save tax.

Let us know.....

Your thread(s) are like four hours of foreplay followed by a cold shower.
