Congrats on both the watch and retirement!

How were you able to order so soon? I read earlier in this thread that it wouldn't be available until Q1/Q2 of next year.

Which seconds hand configuration did you go with? Since the dial has the small, red triangle above the 12 I'm thinking of going with the standard red tip. Full red might be too much red.

My AD assured me he would have one for me by spring…red-tip second hand and light gray with white stitching leather band. It’s a stunner! PS I agree the full red tip really looks good on the darker dials.

Wow I'm so impressed with Czapek that I instantaneously pulled the trigger on a Salmon dial Antarctique. I had 6 Rolex with me to compare. Yes, they somewhat paled in comparison.

It's official, Viridian Green Antarctique is on its way! I'll post pics when I get it... I must admit Pierre Millasson and Dave Sergeant have been AMAZING to deal with.

Damnnnnn.....how do you like it in person? Im pretty excited, re-watched all the youtube antarctique videos put out by Czapek. I cant get over the fact its an independent company, "in house" movement. I use quotes since they use several small contractors but its their movement. Seems the amount of hands on work to make one is quite onerous

It’s even better than the photos can show. Some of the photos make the color appear so bright, but I couldn’t find any light angle to see that color. This is my first time seeing the flinque pattern on the dial, and as others have said, it looks way better than any picture can display and shows a tremendous amount of depth.

The Viridian Green definitely combines the best aspects of the Terre Adelie and Passage de Drake!

This and also the starting point of the claws looks better in this version than the Passage de Drake. None of the timepieces look bad of course… Czapek is truly amazing!

Wow I didn’t notice that until you mentioned it. There’s a little 6 index, and the rest of the indices overlie the minute marker track. Very cool limited edition release, congratulations, it looks amazing

Yes it seems if you look at 20 different pictures the dial looks different in each one... from a bright green to a dark turquoise. I think they nailed the color down. It was hard spending this $ on a "new" watch brand but when I see the amount of hand work done on each piece it is pretty special

Love how open, honest and candid Xavier is in that interview. That forthright lack of bullshit has defined my dealings with the brand, and is such a breath of fresh air in the current climate.

Congrats on the success. Well deserved.

Why does he want to sell and do you have any pics?
And in case you pass, would he sell it to somebody else, too?

Not much point getting others opinions, all you can do is your own research and decide if you want it. I felt that a watch from an independent with the amount of work, and the limited production numbers it was a cool watch to add to the collection. Its not a stainless Daytona, Royal Oak or Nautilus so there's no guarantee on future value. That said they sold all pieces in 40 minutes so some people want them.

Have you received yours, now?

Even the red one has been sold out within a day. I was offered one but I passed. And by the time I wrote my sales guy, he said it's been sold anyway (3hrs timeframe)

Its being shipped via UPS as we speak. I'm honestly excited for this one, Im curious how this boutique brand will grow. A major part of the process was the hands on from Czapek and Fratello so I wonder if it will stay as intimate or if it will become an AD experience like other brands. The price is a bit of a mind bender too since it is a relatively unknown brand but from the Antartique youtube videos it does seem the product is on par with the best of them, in which case its actually not priced bad at all.

I had the same trepidation (well before the Antarctique was as well known as it is now - mine was one of the very first delivered to customers). Took the plunge and don't regret it for a second.

At the current price, and relative to its peers, I consider it a bit of a bargain.

It's such a great watch I basically haven't taken it off all year.

(Just realised I got soya sauce on my sweater at lunch - doh!)

That's true you were one of the first to take the plunge. When you look at the construction of the watch and the companies involved in manufacturing them they are a bit of a bargain for the time being. They have wait lists now so Im sure things will change

You are on OG.

Our Antarctiques are one of the few that got shipped before the end of 2020.

Unfortunately, i didnt stop there. I have 4 more coming (Emerald iceberg, Rattrapante, Salmon and Glacier blue). I need a therapist.

OP, happy to buy the Fratello edition if you decide not to. One of the few im missing.

It arrived on New Year's Eve. Hard to believe it's nearly a year already.

Can you say some words comparing it to

- Patek Philippe Nautilus,
- AP Royal Oak
- VC Overseas

If you happen to have them in your collection already, please?
