I was going in to pick a gmt11 tt, but got out wearin the tt ym blue.
Well aware this not being a popular model, and it's been discontinued. I had not been looking for ym much at all, but when the dealer presented it to me, together with gmt, and ym platty blue. My choice fell on this. The first one i outsourced was my gmt i had been saving for. Then the to YM which both are stunning left. I let my wife have the final word. The watch have given me lots of pleasure. It is one i will keep. |

The YM has an interesting history. It was destined to be a replacement for the Submariner and instead became the Yacht-Master.
Beautiful bezel (not fragile ceramic, thank God). Mine and hers: |

Awesome pictures, as usual, Jack. Can't believe you missed this one. As mentions many time before, the blue dial on your YM is truly stunning.

I, for one am hoping the 16623 gets the upgrades this year that the 16622 received two years ago. If it does, I would seriously consider adding it to my collection.

I bought a Z series Yachtmaster stainless/platinum 16622 last week and I love it. It was a planned purchase for a while. This is my second Rolex (first was a 16613 Submariner date blue face). I have to say I love it and it replaced my Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 2201.50 as my daily wear watch. I def learned a few things from this thread. 1) I want the red date wheel. 2) The blue face yachtmaster is really growing on me.

For the above 16623 TT Ym Blue, is the dial colour and texture the same as the platinum YM blue? |

Fantastic pictures. Probably the best I have seen of the blue dial Yacht-Master.

Im looking for my third Rolex and I am determined to get a 16623 (two tone and blue dial). I currently have a 1990 Thunderbird with a jubilee bracelet, a 2014 GMT-II and soon to purchase a YM 16623.
I've noticed that the 16623 is the ONLY watch in the YM fleet that hasn't been updated to the new heavy duty clasp. I wonder if anyone has knowledge as to when the NEW-generation Oysterlock clasp will (if ever) come to the 16623. Id hate to buy a watch today and in a few months at BaselWorld 2015 they release the 16623 as the final watch to get the heavy duty oyster lock. Anyone have information or insight? |

Wearing my 16622 today. Just love the platinum dial and red second hand/lettering combination.

Yachtmaster SS Platinum
Just picked this up a few days ago. I absolutely love it! It's elegant, classy, sporty and just looks awesome. In my opinion it "pop's" more than the sub and just has a more elegant look. I'm still trying to figure out why so many people on this site dislike this piece.
